Hi all!

This is my first post and was just wondering what other cat parents do when you have 1 old cat (15) and 1 new cat (2) and the new cat always goes after the old one's bowl when he gets done with his... I wasnt sure if 2 separate electronic cat feeders was an option, but I gotta do something cuz my new cat is starting to get bigger from all the food he is given. I only give them a total of 1/2 cup of dry Bluemountain a day, plus a tablespoon of the wet Bluemountain at night. When i first got my new cat, i would separate them from each other at meal times, but being handicapped, this is proving to be a really difficult thing to do. any suggestions?

Instead of giving them each the entire  1/2 cup of kibble  at one time try splitting it up into two meals of 1/4 cup each and sit there quietly while they are eating to supervise .. Some cats to better on two or  three small meals per day ..

Actually I give them 1/4 cup twice a day.. Once in the morning and once at night. So I guess it looks like I'll have to watch them from now on hehe. I know my older cat doesn't like it much when im around him when he eats.. Kind of like someone standing over your shoulder. I'll give this a try though.

Have you thought of giving the new cat his kibble in a puzzle toy in another room? That way he'll take longer to eat and your old boy should have time to finish in peace.
