I have Two pregnant cats,

yes i know, i will be frowned upon for letting this happen, to be frank I didn't think my male was old enough to get fixed, nor was i aware my females were old enough to go into heat.

This is my first time owning cats, and I got my first cat from someone, a few short weeks later i found a kitten whose mother was a stray and had gotten killed, and then a few weeks after that a kitten showed up in my yard. I didn't intend to keep the two kittens i was going to find them homes, but they all got along very well and i felt bad separating them.

just to stop the bashing on me for having two pregnant cats. ^^^^^^^^

ANYWAYS.

They both got pregnant around the same time I do believe, although everything I've read (and I've been doing my research) is basically telling me that all the signs their having or at least the ones i'm seeing mean that they both should of had their kittens a week ago. Like i said i am a first time cat owner. So i guess i would like to hear from people who know more than I myself do.

I have a tortoiseshell female (Luna) that has been losing the fur around her nipples for about three weeks, her back boobs the ones more towards her rear have been sagging and have appeared to have milk in them for at least two weeks. She has been licking herself and her stomach for a few weeks but she isn't showing any signs of nesting yet, and she looks like shes swallowed a watermelon. She is still eating tho.

My other female is a white fluffy cat (Pikachu, Pika for short)  and she is very petite in size although with the fur you can't tell. She isn't near as large as Luna and shes having a hard time with losing the fur around her nipples but she is always licking herself and her stomach and she is still eating as well.

They both are being more lethargic but both still have a good appetite and both are being more affectionate, but at the same time they DO NOT like me to attempt to feel movement and neither one like me to attempt to pick them up. (yes i am very careful when i pick them up and i don't pick them up by their bellys)

as far as change in behavior Luna has always liked her loving but only when she wants it, and Pikachu has always been down to be held or loved whenever you felt like loving her.

I'm also sorry for so much back ground and story with this thread but I've been reading ever since i assumed they were indeed pregnant and every thread always has someone bashing them for letting their cat get pregnant and I have two that are so I wanted to plead my case.

Just because I am excited. I will say these cats are my furry children along with the various other animals I own, so if anyone would like to help me figure out what my grandchildren might look like I would love to know what features you think they will end up having.

I will post pictures, but the only ones I have on me are on my phone and i'm on a computer and I'm also at a friends house at the moment so I don't have any up to date pictures of their bellys or anything but I will be able to post those later tonight or tomorrow.

I will go ahead and say thank you to anyone and everyone who can and will give their helpful advice and input!

Also I live in the woods and my females are inside cats but Zues my male cat does go outside sometimes and i also have a inside/outside dog. and Pikachu (fluffy white cat) has a few fleas, due to this, I'm not sure what I can do to get rid of them while she's pregnant or nursing. I'm afraid to put a flea collar on her because my mom did this with a dog of ours a few years bag who had puppies and all the puppies died, not sure if thats why but i'm still afraid to do that so if anyone knows what i can do, please tell me!

Welcome to TCS
Do you have few nesting boxes for them to decide? Do you know when they got pregnant or went out of heat? We can't tell you when they going to have them. Each cat is different usually it around 63 days but i say they are 9 weeks so they are nearing

Flea collars are dangerous to any cat because they can lick the collar

Where do you see bashing?? I never saw it

Ps if both of really close to each other, you may see sharing and helping each other out with their kittens so don't be surpise if one of them is nursing the other kittens

I have no clue when the went into or out of heat, but i started noticing they were pregnant, as in a size change from My white furr ball Pika at least two months ago maybe longer. I've read some places where when cats have their first litter sometimes they wont go in to labor and it can kill them and i haven't seen bashing here but i have on other sites, this is the first time i've found this one and i decided to ask my own question instead of reading others. lol

If they seem to be in distressed or you think they beyond 70 days i suggest taking them to the vet. We find the signs are not very reliable. It does sounds like they are nearing It a waiting game but like i said if they 70 days or beyond or they seem distress i suggest taking them to the vet.

I heard the other cat sites are not very friendly as this site is. We won't bash you for letting your cats become pregnant or not getting them fixed. Some members might but most of us won't because it not the right thing to do. I think you will find this site amazing and the people on here too

That's good to know! And I do plan to give these babies away to good homes! People I know and trust and I'm getting my male fixed next month! And yeah they are Finnicy, like kinda don't want anyone to mess with them but I'm not sure if that's distress? And I'm trying to post pictures but idk if it's my phone or what it's being difficult. Haha

If you can get Advantage II its safe.   Revolution should also be safe, at least the version for pregs. - its sold in different verisions.

If you do have contact with your vet, you can ask him too, of course.

Ask him at the same time for a suitable deworming.

As I well and truly know its a waiting game my cat is due any day now (havnt a clue when she was due but last in heat about 9-10 weeks ago) and she's huge lol just wanted to suggest getting your male in for spaying as soon as u can rather than waiting a month as with him living with female cats they will get pregnant straight away again good luck hope you have some kittens soon :)
