Never thought I would be in this position.

I am in DC/Maryland area and will now have to find good homes for half of my cats. I have 7 cats I own and 2 stray/ boderline ferals in an outside house that I love and take care of.

My (as of today) EX Fiance is also a huge cat lover (but then Hitler was also an animal lover, so that means little !)

A few days ago, on Easter, I felt so blessed and happy to be with this man (I have known him for nearly 7 years and we're both in our 30s and he was the dearest thing in the world to me besides my furballs)

But since he is a cheater and now is raging AT me for his cheating (like it's my fault), I have to leave here as soon as I get enough money for several months rent. He is not in any way violent, he's just showing that he has a nasty side to him when caught cheating.

Calling me fat (I am size 8 for Pete's Sake !) and basically blaming me for cheating off and on for our entire relationship.)

All my relatives are passed on and friends are  too far away to help me out or take me in wiht the cats I love deeply and must keep.

I think I can keep at least 4 of my cats even though I'll have to be in a rental.  The cats have all had their shots, are neutered of course and range from 2-3 years old. All indoors were rescued as babies.

If anyone has some good leads in the DC/NoVa/Maryland area who could help me rehome within the next few months, please let me know.

I have no car, so I would need help to transport.

I am a ball of nerves and sadness right now, so I may be bad at checking this thread, but please keep updating it anyway.

Off to work my butt off to collect up money. Also I am a web designer and SEO marketing whiz and can exchange design/seo services in return for a rescue group who can help me out with rehoming.

Prayers please.

That's horrible! So sorry that you're going through this. I wonder if Seer Farms would be able to help you in any way. They're located in New Jersey, but maybe they have some connections or suggestions for you:

i would say contact alley cat allies and/or alley cat network about the outside cats. both those groups are headquartered in your area.
Alley cat allies hasn't replied at all.

I am at my wit's end.

Things have come to ahead and now he is trying to move out asap and leave me with his mortgage payments and the cats.

Totally distraught.

Isnt there any groups who can give advice or ideas?

I appreciate all the helpful replies here.

I have forced myself to work super hard and long hours in order to stay here for now.

Ex can move out,, so I am being a grown up and not being a sad victim.

His whole family adores me, so he knows he would look awful to kick me out.

I hate paying someone else's mortgage, but this way I can get together a nest egg in peace and quiet and the cats are all well cared for.

Thanks again.

Glad to hear you are able to stay. Hardly seems fair that you're paying his mortgage. Hopefully it isn't much more then you'd pay for rent and you can save up some for a new place. Sounds like you're hanging in there. Good luck to you!
