I've recently gone through my cat giving birth (and only had her a couple weeks at that!) and it was totally a surprise.

Just make sure you love on her when she wants it and that the place you have is somewhere she will feel safe and has her scent all on it.

She might come and start crying to you or just meow a lot. Mine started crying to me, looking at me, then followed me wherever I went. When I sat down, she jumped right on and then started having contractions. I didn't want her to have babies on my stomach so I look her over to special spot that she likes to be.

Do not leave her side if she came and got you. She might feel like the spot is unsafe and then it all goes down hill from there.

Make sure her litter box is nearby but not too close and that she has fresh water and food after she's given birth.

I was recommended to keep her on kitten food for extra nutrients and I also give her some goats milk every day to make sure she never has a dry "tap".

Sometimes, a kitten(or more) will not make it. You need to be mentally prepared to watch a newborn kitten die. I wan't and I balled my eyes out for god knows how long!

Buy a needle-less syringe, some kitten milk, and/or a kitten bottle just in case you need to feed one.

Always, always, always research. You can never research and become too knowledgeable for these things.

Sorry I haven't replied but nothing more happened till today she was acting a bit strange crying and walking around then she got on the top of the cupboard and some thing started to come out it looked red like a balloon I'm sure it was a kitten and I was so worried as it would have fallen from the top of the cupboard so I managed to get her down into her box where she was washing herself and water was coming out of her and red discharge stuff I through this is it its the start but what ever was coming out went back in and nothing more has happened she's washing a lot but she's a sleep now so u think this could be the start of labour

Hi I have a female cat who is due to have her kittens any day now 2 days ago she past this

I'm still not really sure what it was after she just started to act normal I put it in the bin as it didn't look like it could be a kitten but a few minutes later when nothing happened I through maybe it was so checked the bin to find what I had put in there to find some thing 10% of the size that it was and looked to see if there was a kitten that was inside to find nothing at all all I can think is it was a kitten that didn't develop and died some time ago but the bag still grew I really don't no what happened
Any way 2 days has past and today she's acting strange again I've seen the kittens moving inside her last night and today but a few hours ago she got on top of my cupboard and something started to come out of her it looked red like a balloon I think it was a kitten I had to get her down because the kitten would have fallen if not so got her into her box she was crying and washing herself water was coming out but then nothing again she's just stopped and is now sleeping

It does sound like today will likely be the delivering day.

Just keep an eye on her, keep things calm and quiet as much as you can, and she should start with active labor soon enough.

As for the tissue she passed in the picture, it's a mystery to me, and you will likely never know.

It may have been a kitten starting but for some reason just didn't happen.

Very hard to say for sure.

As long as she is not in distress or bleeding a great deal (she will a bit after birthing) then just keep your eye on her.

She is beautiful btw.

Sounds like she should be having them anytime now. Just keep her calm and stay with her so she won't climb on a counter again.  I've had that happen to me before. My momma cat was in labor so I decided to go to the restroom when she got up to follow me the baby when back inside. She eventually started labor again and had 5 babies with no problems, but I was not allowed to go anywhere. I was stuck until one of my daughters got home.

If this is her 3rd litter she knows what she's doing but that don't mean something can't happen. I have always tried to be near my momma cats. If nothing else sitting outside the door listening. Good luck!!!!

Sending vibes your way

What a beautiful, precious kitten! Mom must be relieved! Is her belly still big or do you see any movement? They can have breaks - sometimes long ones. If she is not actively laboring and in distress, then just wait it out. Did you make a nest in a quiet place for them? Please keep us updated and congratulations!

She is acting a bit strange but doesn't seem in distress or pain I still think she looks a bit fat around her belly but haven't managed to see any movement as she's always moving around I guess only time will tell
