My sister's cat delivered her 4 beautiful baby tabbies today and she has been following around everywhere I go. She will not stay with the kittens unless I'm right by her side. Is this normal cat behavior and will it stop? I work 40+ hrs a week and I don't know how she'll react when home alone with them. As long as I'm right by her side she is doing a great job with them. But the second I leave, she panics!

It happens, if you have to go to work, try locking her with them in the room, she might get up bur she should react to their crying ane go back to them

Someone who more knowledgeable may have better suggestions or advice

I agree with MWallace.   This behavior isnt unusual, you are after all her Ma.  Or favorite Aunt, if you so wish.     I suppose this is the trick to do  IF you must too leave.

You can try with letting good sounds go on, on youtube they have  purring sounds, mom to her litter.  It may help.
