Where did you find that? How is Molly acting? It is hard to get a good idea from the picture but might be a plug. giving birth is a basic function for a cat so even if its is her first litter she will inheritantly know what to do. Have you checked if she has any rounding by her tail. How long has it been since the vet said she was 4-5 weeks have you counted how close to 65 days it is?

probably milky discharge and she can go off her feed at the end. Keep water and food handy and keep any distractions to a minimum until she has her kittens. When she starts having kittens she will start cleanning herself as they come out the first couple she will probably clean completely herself. The thing to do is make sure the bag is clearred from the nose and mouth as soon as possible. If she is doing it leave her be if not open the bag and clear the mouth and nose. most mommy's will eat the sack that is normal. if she has any she does not clean completely you can help by towel drying them but let the mommy always know were the kitten is. Make sure they sneeze any fluids out of their nose and mouth. The same basic as a human baby. If you need to cut the cord take and ty two strings and cut between the strings. the mommy will usually take care of this too. As soon as the mouth and nose is clear place the kitten to a teat. Let the mommy do all she will collecting the sacks and disposing of them if the mommy will allow it. This is a natural engrain knowledge that the mommy has so if you place a kitten in front of the mommy and allow her to clear the nose and mouth it will seem natural.

I have just a couple things to add to kstonya's post, 1st make sure the kittens are warm, breathing and their gums are pink before cutting the cord if you must do it, secondly make sure the ties are tight, next, make sure the scissors are very sharp and are sterilized with alcohol and lastly, do not pull on the cord as it can cause a hernia. I hope they do well. Please keep us posted on them.

Thanks Nansiudie placing the kittens on the mothers teats will start her flow as it might not be immediate. keep the area warm and quiet. I had a situation where some of the kittens came but it appeared that she had another that would not birth. it was sideways and in that case I had to get the mother to the vet immediately to save them both. This is not a normal thing but as the vet told you how many she saw it will give you an idea if she is done. you can also feel her midsection to see if you feel any more babies as the vet might have missed some. You might not need any feeding bottles but if she does not get her milk you will know as her teats will not fill up and the babies will be hungry. Post when anything changes or if you have any more questions

The kittens come in a sack that is clear and is tough to break open. depending on the size of the kittens the first one might take a bit to come out you will see a rounding of the vagina when they are coming out. Normally they will start and come quickly but there is a chance that the kittens might not pop out one after another. normally it will be real fast one after another. you will want to have a extra towel or what ever you had for nesting materials as you will need to change the soiled bedding after she has delivered all her kittens and cleaned them up. Let us know when you get your babies and if you have any more questions. It could be any time now.

the last pics are normal it is very similar to a human baby experience. I do not know if you have witness a human birth but being the questions it seems as this is your first time. The waiting is the hardest thing. The picture could be several different things like the plug discharge to anything else. comforting Molly as she will allow, if she will let you rub her tummy that will also help you stay busy and not worry. it is a natural situation and there normally is no complications.

by rubing her tummy you can also feel for bumps and count the bumps beware that some babies can hide under the rib cage so you might not feel all of the kittens. when was the last time the vet saw her. As it is a natural process most vets would have told you at the time if she was needed to be seen before giving birth. Also if this is her first litter she might be unsure herself but as stated before as soon as the process starts Molly will instintively know what to do. Keep the area quiet and you need to stay calm as you can upset her also.

Very Soon, hours at most, , although its not always the delivery comes immediately after the water brokes...   Sometimes it may take several hours, it may.

Please come with reports as soon you know more.

Good luck!

Mollys in her nest( which is in my very long in built wardrobe ) very heavy breathing and taking a nap . She's been very restless her water broke at 8:10 pm . I saw the sack come out thought it was a kitten . Every time I've left her it's all gone quiet . She keeps holding my arm bless her . I'm staying in here with her tonight as she s going mad if I leave her. I have everything ready just waiting for her back to start jolting for stronger contractions
