Hey all. You know I have talked about my Ghost a lot on here, well now that the weather is getting warmer, he wants to spend more time outside. The problem with this is he is solid white and his ears and the area above his eyes to his ears are getting really pink. I use to put sunscreen on my horses nose to keep him from getting sunburned and was wondering if it would be alright to do the same to Ghost. Or is there something that is safe for him that I can put on his ears and forehead to keep him from getting sunburned.

You can quite safety put sun block on his
ears. Google will tell you all about it. I used to read British cat magazines which always reminded mums of white cats to use a high number sun block on the ears and nose if I'm not mistaken.

I would just like to add something from my personal experience here now.

My cat is a calico with a white nose and ears. She currently has what the vet says is nasal cancer. She was a stray and about two years old when she came up on our porch. She is now about eleven. She has lived outside in a fenced enclosure. She has always had bushes to lay under or some other way to get out of the sun. However our vet has said that white cats are far more prone to skin cancers than other cats. So, just throwing this out here for you to let you know, yes you are on the right track to try and protect your cats ears. I hope you find something you can use on your cat to prevent the problem I am dealing with now.
