My father has two wonderful 5 year old cats, a brother and sister, for whom we have to find a good home.  Dad has to move into a structured assisted living facility near Fort Lauderdale that does not allow cats.  We cannot take them as our dogs are not cat friendly.  He has to move on Monday, 4/13.  Help!!

Sorry about the delay in response. I see it is past the 13th and I only hope that the cats are somewhere safe for now. I can only suggest contacting as many friends, family and co-workers that you can think of. Maybe even someone to foster the cats temporarily until you can find a suitable home for them. Vet offices are also a great place to put up fliers asking for help in finding a home for cats in a situation such as this. This is a common scenario for cats and even dogs when their senior guardians have to move to assisted living. You may be surprised to know that some people may step up and take on the two cats knowing the situation well and that is why I suggest a flyer at the vet's office or even a pet store. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for the two kitties.

Just an update - Our dad's two wonderful cats have not yet found a home and are currently being boarded at our veterinarian's office. So again, we are reaching out to the cat community for help. Our vet thoroughly examined them, tested them for leukemia and aids, and brought all of their vaccines up to date. We are also willing to pay for the first year of food for them both, along with their litter pan and anything else that might be needed. In exchange all we ask is for a animal loving person or family to provide them with their forever home.

AW Annie. How very, very kind of you to offer to do that for the person/people who adopt the two cats. :hugs: I am keeping the vibes coming that someone - :cross: - even from the vet's office will open up their hearts to these two kitties. Poor dears, they must be so stressed right now but thankfully they are together and can give each other comfort. I know it is even more difficult to find a home for two let alone one. BUT - really, I think two bonded adult cats make a wonderful, joyful and loving addition to a family and can make the transition so much easier by being together giving each other confidence to adjust. Keep us posted, if you can. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

I think you should put your area in your profile.

Thank you. We are in the Fort Laudetdale area, but are willing to do whatever it takes if someone out of the area is interested in giving Kiki and Kiko a forever home. We are running out of time. Thanks.
