So my cat got pregnant, I figured out the time she would be due around, put her in the bathroom, making a birthing home & allowing her to get used to it as all sites have said. I allowed her in my room from the bathroom as I could supervise, keeping the bedroom door closed to keep her from my other cat.
Today while I was in class she gave birth to 3 kittens. All 3 were dead by the time I came home from class. She had a 4th that between her & I have kept alive. Then she had a 5th which came out still born.
As a student have a very small amount of money at my disposal for such things as emergency vet care. I can't tell if there are still kittens in her belly & if so how long is a resting period. I've read it could take up to 5 hours.
Any advice on any of this as a first time mom to a first time mom would be so greatly appreciated!!!!

Thank you in advance!

Ok, the resting period may differ, several hours and even days.

Also the question, is she basically empty, but with the uterus swollen, or is there one left?   And if the first were premature, its fully possible the last one(s) will be delivered much later, in their proper time, fully healthy.

The recipe in both cases is essentielly the same.   Is she OK?  No visible troubles?  Happy with her already born kitten?   If so, you can wait and see.  Be vigilant as it may become  touchy very quickly, but you dont need to panic.

If she is in visible trouble, or you by any other reasons see there are complications, contact your vet and be ready to rush her in.

I hear you are telling me you can barely afford anything, but this is the medical. About economy I cant help you much, save advices try to raise some money, perhaps by promising extra work, and such.   People tend to help out, if your need is real and not by your fault.

Next question, the stillborne and the alive one.   How do they look? fully matured, hairy and decently round?  Or premature, almost hairless and scrawny like a new hatched bird?

if the later, this explains why them died.  It means also, this alive one will be a fight uphill.   It may perhaps be saved if you fight vigorously enough, but know  the odds arent excellent.   Otherways, why the first three were dead if not premature, we cant know.  We cant know if your being there at the delivery would help anything.  But as the fifth was dead too, I suspect they were stillborne.  You could hardly do anything, just to help and save the fourth, whom come out alive.

I will write more, if and when you report.   Im here the best part of the day.

Good luck!
