I have 2.5 year old cat. Friday morning he puked after eating too fast but the rest of the day he puked bile a couple times and was lathargic all day. Didnt eat, not even tuna. Wouldn't drink. Th next day we tried liftinghim up and he would cry or hiss which isn't like him. Took him to the vet, they did tests, urine and blood. Gave him fluids and something to stop puking. Noted that his urine was dark said it could be hepititis??! Later that night after putting wet food on his paws forcing him to eat and another long nap he woke up himself. Now the next day hes totally fine happy alert, eating, playing no pain when lifted. Vet called and said he was worries some test numbers were high he said to bring him to the emerg clinic to get an IV of anti bacterial fluids said it could be pancreatitis or hep. He just left a message so I couldbt tell him that he was now doing a lot better. I wonder if this matters? Should I still take him to the emerg? Should I call him a sn tell him hes fine, maybe they can give him something Monday at their clinic so it's not as expensive as the emerg? Could he be wrong? I'm not sure what to do and I want some sort of game plan before I call or I will agree to anything. I dont want to put him through something he doesnt have to.

I have always hated those times when I am not sure if an emergency vet is warranted or not.  I think they are more stressful for kitty and I know they are harder on my pocketbook.  Is he eating and drinking now and doing okay after eating?  If you can get ahold of your vet I would call him and tell him what is going on and get his advice.  If you can't get ahold of your vet then I would call the e-vet and get their advice.  I don't know about the one in your area but the one that I use is remarkably honest about the need for a visit rather than just telling everyone to bring in their pet to get more business,

I spoke to the vet and he was shocked that he was doing so well. Said to watch him, any bad signs instantly bring him to the emerg. He wants to re test on Monday. Apparently the normal range for one test is a 5 and he had 38 so it looked really bad. I'm not sure if the test was wrong or if hes feeling a little better so hes acting completely fine. :/
