My cats name is nidalee and she's 1 years old. I found out she was pregnant when we got back from Disney world and was at the vet to get her fixed. She got out while we were gone. The vet isn't sure when she's due and I'm honestly not sure either so I was hoping for some advice on when she might be due. Her nipples have started to produce milk and she has become very attention needy. She seems to be pretty big to me. I can not only feel the kittens but I can see them move and kick now for over a week and her tummy is very tight. She how ever is not nesting and only sleeping with me all day everyday. Here is her picture. The vet she went to said they think only 2 kittens but I think there is at least 4. She has gained about 8lbs. She also had this dryer mucus looking peace come out of her Tuesday morrning and has had very minor blood spotting. The vet said she was ok nothing to worrie about. I'm wondering if she's due any day or wil it still be weeks.

Its at most one week left.  The mucus going is supposed to be a sign to nearing delivery, but it may go earlier too...   They are not always nesting before.  Not openly.  Out in the wild, they dont want to get their choosed nest smelly too early.  But you do prepare for her a couple of useful places, so she knows there are good choices for her.

If she is best friend with you, she may even choose to deliver (and or have her nest) in your bed.   :)

So, be watchful, but its essentially to wait and see!

Im sending our links, but of course, please do report, and please you are welcomed with further questions.

Good luck!

She seems to of lost another mucus plug. Is that even possible. It's super thick and looks like a yellowish green booger. Her stomach is rock hard. Not sure is she's having contractions. Are they easy to tell?

I'm not sure of her due date I thought it was next week but she was just sitting on me and I think her water broke. It was a suprise when it happened. She had a lot of water like fluid come out and it's very lightly tinted pink. It was as if she peed on me. She isn't having contractions yet but she lost her mucus plug 5 hours ago and this happened about 30 mins ago. She's 2 years old and a first time mom.

At least with humans it can happen water goes off without immediate delivery!   As I understand, it does not need to be dangerous.

Do you have a vet to contact if need be?   If you dont have, begin and search after one.   If you have several too choose among, pick one who is experienced in obstetrics.  They will be typically used to cooperate with breeders, or doing a lot of work with rescue groups.

If you DO have such a vet, phone and ask.

Im sending our links, perhaps you will find them useful.

Good luck!

Well she just had her first kitten. Explains the blood with the water. It was dead but very very small couldn't even tell it was once a kitten but it was brown with tiny nails no fur or eyes or anything. Maybe 3 weeks gestational old if that. She's not pushing anymore so I'm worried. I know she had 2 heathy ones in there less the 24 hours ago fully developed the vet ultras lady said. I'm praying for those 2 to be alright

Not pushing here is actually good.  She made herself off this one not successfull, who seems not evenreally a premature.  Was probably dead.   If he had that looks you hints, he was not meant to be,   .

So, pauses are normal. Hours or even days.  If she is otherwise OK, no troubles, no labor, no fever - its just to wait and see, with any luck the other kittens will arrive in their proper time and hopefully fully done and healthy.

BUT if she seems to be in any visible trouble, do contact your vet at once, and be ready to rush in.

Please continue to report, whatever something happens, or you are still waitning and observing.

Good luck!

Well at 446 am she had her 2nd kitten. It's alive and well and super cute. Mommy cat has taken to it very well. Waiting to see her have the others.

She hasn't had any more contractions or kittens but I knew there was at least one more. Just got back from the vet and our first kitten in the photo is a girl and in good condition. She had an X-ray to check on her as it's been 6 hours since last birth. She has 2 more fully developed and healthy kittens still to come and a 3rd that didn't look right on the X-ray. I'll keep everyone posted as she has more. The black thing in her arms is her kitten she loves to cuddle it

It's finally done and we have 4 healthy and cute kittens. All doing well. I'll post photos later they are all still goopy. Thanks so much for these forums it helps first timers have a place to ask questions and get healthy advice. Mommy cat is all set to be fixed I don't think I can handle her having any more kittens and all baby's will be staying with is for life and be fixed as we'll.

i am glad we was such a good help, just make sure the kittens are fully weaned and wait at least two weeks for her milk to dry up before getting her fixed. If you have any questions about weaning or anything feel free to ask

So this kitten which looked suspcious on the X-ray, it was OK??   Swell!

It may be good to weigh them every day, to see they do gain as they shall.  Its often the easier way to notice problems.

An electronical scale weighing in grammes may be cheap.

Good luck!

I weighed each one when born. The grey one was 90 grams, white with black spots 113 grams , the all black one 98 grams and the one that they didn't think would make it is the black one with a tiny bit of white was 102 grams.

When should they be winged?
Winged kittens that would be pretty cool

Based on my exerience mama cat will wean them herself, the weaning process starts around four weeks and usually they become fully weaned by 8 to 10 weeks but some cats will let her kittens nurse for comfort longer then that. You can help her by moisting the dry food and rubbing some on their lips or if you feed wet food, you can take some and rub it on their lips
