Hi. My name is Angel
. Or at least that is what my new keeper is calling me, what a silly name for a boy kitty! Up until last week I was running free around where he works. I lived in the parking lot and a field across the street. He took pity on me because I looked so starved - says I was so skinny my sides were touching through my middle. I know I looked a mess but I didn't have the energy to keep myself well groomed. The first time he saw me he tried to feed me part of his sandwich but I was scared and ran away. Several more times when he saw me he would throw food at me and then once I tried some and it was so delicious. After a few times of this I became less scared. Then he started bringing me real kitty food. Imagine that! Soon it was a regular routine him feeding me at lunch times and on some of his breaks. I even started looking out for him and sometimes waited near his car.

One really special day he brought out a food called "turkey" that he snuck out from work. It was so yummy I was even willing to get close to him and eat some by his feet. It was truly a Thanksgiving feast. Over the next week he continued to bring food and even fresh water - so thoughtful. A few times when I wasn't around he would walk through the parking lot whistling for me and looking under cars. I would then follow him back to his car and have a meal. I was willing to let him get a foot or so from me but any closer made me uncomfortable so I would back away. I was able to eat by his feet as long as he didn't try to touch me and this seemed to please him.

One terrible day though he brought a blue box thing and started moving my food closer and closer to it. Then he put my food just inside it!!! I was so very hungry and he had been so kind I decided it would be ok to put my head in and eat. I didn't notice that I kept pushing the bowl further and further back and I was getting further and further into the box. Then, horrors, when I was almost all the way in he reached down and tried to close the door on me. I was too quick though and twisted my way out. I hid under the next car and refused to go near the food anymore. After a little while he packed up everything and left. I was still scared but also a little sad fearing I had lost a friend. Later that day he came back but I was hiding. He looked for me and I decided to give him another chance and followed him back hoping to get fed. Strangley though he got back in his car and closed the door. Then I noticed some of his lunchmeat on the ground and ate it. Then I saw another piece and went over and ate it. I kept following the pieces until I came to a strange wire box. Somehow, there was food way inside. Since it wasn't the horrible blue box and he was safely closed in his car I thought it would be ok to inch in and get a quick dinner. Suddenly, WHAM! There was this loud clang behind me. I turned to run but the way out was closed. Help. I'm trapped.

Techniques!? Hah!! The dirty rat
got lucky the first day out. Tricked me with kindness. I posted in the other forum because he is a newbie with strays/ferals and I was going to tell my story and how things are now so he could get advice and better educated in order to better help me.

We would be more than happy to help the human part of the duo in the Ferals and Strays Forum.
As an educational forum, we prefer to talk directly to the human who is doing the typing, especially since it is the humans who have the questions. Cats have the whole thing figured out.

Hi Angel! What a lucky human to find you.
You're story is very sweet - but it ends when you're trapped in the cage! We'd love for you to tell us the rest of your story here in the literary forum.

Of course, we'd love to hear from "TBC" in the Caring for Strays and Ferals forum if he has any questions about introducing you to living inside and all the new sights, smells and sounds. Like Heidi says - we're sure you know what you're doing. We're here to help the people out, LOL!
