Hi everyone!

I am brand new on here and am looking for anyone who has had a male kitty with urine crystals.  My boy, Meowzers (Mouzie as a main nickname), a 5 year old long haired, black very handsome boy was in the kitty emergency room last week and we almost lost him due to these crystals.  As of now, he doing very well, peeing and is completely ticked off at me because I shove his medicine and water down his throat daily.  But that's ok, because it's getting him well.  Yes, we have tried pill pockets, he eats the pocket and leaves the pill.  Cleaver little bugger.

With that said, Mouzie LOVES his kitty treats!  He used to get them daily by my dad, (currently a poor college student still living at home), but we were told that has to stop viz our vet because it can cause more crystals to form.  I went to PetCo yesterday and the lady showed me some cranberry treats she claimed were ok to give him.  I haven't had a chance to ask my vet yet, but is there anyone on here who has had a treat loving cat who has gotten the crystals?  If so, did you find a new kind of treat that is crystal kitty approved?

We also have Kona, a 3 year old short haired orange tabby, feisty as all get out little gal, and she seems to be taking to the new C/D urinary health dry food more than Meowzers is.  Actually, Meowzers will not eat the stuff even mixed in with his old food.  Anyone with multiple cats find this to be true?  The cat who needs the new food will not eat it, but the one who does not will?  Did the one who didn't like it eventually eat it?

I got him the wet C/D chicken stew and chicken pate, and he likes the stew ok, but still isn't eating much, which makes me worried because he's always been an in-shape boy ~10lbs, but he feels like he lost some weight from his hospital visit.  I just got Purina's version of a urinary health cat food to see if he'll like that any better, but wanted to see what others with this health issue have done.  Mouzie is really picky, so I am totally open to multiple alternatives of what you have done.

I'm thinking Mouzie is still ticked off from going to the hospital, having to be locked in the house for 5 days (he's an indoor/outdoor kitty who LOVES being outside), and from us still having to give him his medicine, so wonder if he'll start eating better again after another week or so.  He has 3 more days of medicine.

Any help, experience, insight, suggestions, your story would be great because I am a worried mama!

I give my guy, who had kidney and bladder stones, Purebites dehydrated chicken or ocean whitefish treats. I asked his vet first and he okayed them as long as they're given in moderation of course. Simon gets them maybe once or twice a week.
