Hello,

One of our cats has three spots on the bridge of his nose.  He is a tuxedo cat and four years old. (Pics below)

From what we can tell they are not raised, they kind of appear brown in color though in the pictures it seems like its just skin colored (which it might be, its hard to tell)

He has had similar spots before and they did disappear but they seem to last for a good while.  Can't tell if these are the same or not.  Any one have any thoughts?

Thanks for any input!

Have the other spots appeared on his nose as well?  I really don't have any idea what they might be, but perhaps you could call your Vet and just ask the question?

Hi Vess and welcome!

So here's the deal, if kitty goes outdoors, his white nose is susceptible to getting cancer, yes.

However he is young, and unless he almost lives outside and it is sunny most all year round, it's not all that likely that this is what it is, it takes years of exposure for this to happen. (usually that it, can't tell you 100%)

If it does not scab, then don't worry about it. If it does, then he should be seen as it may be very early beginnings of skin cancer.

That is the only thing that is dangerous that starts out as small spots like that, but I don't see any scabbing either, so it's probably just a spot from a little scratch at some time.

White cat cancer starts out as small scabs that won't heal, then they bleed, and grow, etc.

Thanks for the replies, no scabs or itching/scratching.  He acts completely normal (or normal for him) he is a full time indoor cat, only sun exposure would be at the window which he doesn't spend a whole lot of time at.

From what we can feel they arent raised bumps.  Up close I cant tell if its lighting or not but it either looks like its his skin with some hair missing or light brown in color spots.

Yes the one he had in the past was on his nose, but that one was a raised bump that went away.  Took a few weeks/months it seems, cant recall fully now should of written it down.

The only reason we have not gone to the vet is he absolutely hates the carrier an car.  Also anytime him or another cat go to the vet when he comes home he doesn't accept his brother and sister right away, usually takes three days of him hissing/growling at them and sometimes attacking them till he returns to normal.  So if this isnt something serious we would like to avoid a  vet trip if possible but his health is more important in the grand scheme.

Yeah if that's all the sun he gets then I wouldn't think it's even remotely possible for skin cancer, so I wouldn't even worry about it further.

If you ever see it changing, that's another story of course, but I highly doubt it ever will.

Milk scarring from a scratch is most likely.

Was there a diagnosis for this cat? Mine has the same thing and I can't find answers anywhere.
