"Little Gracie - we called her LiL Friskies"!  A former feral, tiny in size but big in love & spirit!  She was gentle and affectionate but incredibly high energy. Her loss is a great mystery - this morning, I found her on the side of the freeway (wayyyy off the pavement) that runs in front of our property. She almost never left our fenced yard (except for sunset walks which required climbing up the 25ft cliffs in our backyard - the cliff in the background of the pic ) and would have crossed our busy frontage road, crossed a creek and jumped a 10 ft. chainlink fence. The vet said she was paralyzed and having trouble breathing, so I had to let her go.

How I miss her running to meet me at the front gate and the way she would touch the tip of her tail to the back of her head when she would greet me!
As the words go in the Roger Whittaker song, " The first time we said 'hello' began our last good-bye"

The heart cries when we lose such a sweet, beautiful friend, the 'emptiness' is so hard to take at the beginning. Try to remember all the 'good' times, and the love you two shared. I'm sure you were her world, and she loved you so much for taking such good care of her. You performed an incredible act of love to end her suffering, may you be blessed for your kindness. Please accept my condolences for your loss, be gentle on yourself......RIP beautiful Gracie!

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your cute Lil Friskies, and so unexpectedly. It's a good and brave thing you did euthanizing her and not letting her suffer. My heart goes out to you. Sending you my condolences and best wishes.

Best regards.

Thank you all for your kind condolences....it really helps!  I am in the midst of solo TRNring and it is bad enough having pregnant kitties, although feral, spayed (14 little kittens sent over the Bridge by me, this week alone and I feel terrible that the moms wouldn't go into the traps before they mated) - it is difficult to feel so surrounded by loss of life (my cousin's baby boy, born in July, passed away suddenly this morning, and I just met him a couple of weeks ago - such a cutie).  I thank God for the kindness and caring of our TCS members!!
