This morning she was on the back of a free-standing sofa, which is common. Went into kitchen to fix breakfast for her and the two boys. Came back with her dish and she was in a box under a living room table. Not typical. Coaxed her out and she walked to the room where I feed her (the boys gobble, she eats slowly) and it seemed to me that her right rear leg splayed out. But she was walking on it.

She ate, went into her little house / box and napped. Went to litter pan, stood there for a while. Nothing. Noticed that although she put weight on all four feet after a bit she "knuckled over" so she was resting the weight on her right front foot on the top of that paw.

Back to box to sleep. Ate her midday meal when I brought it to her. Slept. Keep in mind that she is 18+ years old and sleeping is what she does well - but not to this extent.

Called the vet mid-morning. Probably a sprain. Not much to do for a sprain, and do I want to stress her with a visit to the vet. Wait and see how it goes.

She just came out of her box house, had  drink of water, and went between daybed and its trundle. So now completely out of my sight. Thanks. Not.

I think that when she went from sofa back to arm of sofa then to sofa seat to step onto her little stool to get down to the floor - that somewhere in the descent she slipped and landed wrong.

Here I am with a fractured right wrist since March 17 and now Mist is playing copycat?

Any comments / suggestions / good vibrations very much appreciated.

Poor Mist. I really hope it's just a sprain/pulled muscle. Sorry I can't be of any help. Hope she heals quickly (and the same for your wrist)

Still gimpy but I am delighted to report that Mist is doing better. Walked into living room and back to "her' room for breakfast. And I have taken the stepstool away in the hope it will keep her off the sofa. Better safe than sorry!
