If there a feral cat with kittens outside, would you trapped them or just leave them be because it might cause mom to stress out?

do you know how old the kittens are?

It depends on the situation and not least, your possibilites to take care of them.

But lets say,  you are able to help them and want to, you know exactly where the kittens are so you can collect them without any trouble nor risks.  Yes, trapping the mom and collecting the kittens is the kings road here.
