Hi,

I  was wondering if you can help me, My cat has been licking her hair and pulling it out all over her body, legs, paws, tummy and some itching as well. Iv'e looked for fleas and don't see any, this happened once before about 3 months ago, After a short while i noticed she had started peeing on the floor , places other then litter box which was not her, then blood in urine, she had a kidney stone and had to have it removed, medication didn't work and now has to be on a prescription food for life, it was the kind of stone that wouldn't pass.. Anyway i'm not having those problems just the one i've mentioned. She is 3 and the first 2 years no of this, it's almost like allergies, but why the pulling out hair?? Thank You, please share your experiences or send me a private message

Marie, most often cats will do this sort of thing when they are stressed.  Has something changed in your cat's environment?  It could be anything...furniture rearranged, another animal in the house, another PERSON in the house, a change in food,, a change in routine...for some cats, it could be just about anything, even a change in something outside like a school bus stopping out front

Here is an article that gives some tips on relieving stress:  http://www.thecatsite.com/a/six-surefire-strategies-to-reduce-stress-in-cats

It's possible this is a health issue, possible a skin irritation brought on by even a single flea bite if your little one is allergic to fleas. In that case, though, you would see a lot of itching and scratching, and you only said there is "some" itching, so that may not be what it is, although it's possible it is related to allergies.  A vet visit is definitely worth a try, and may be necessaary if some of those stress relievers in the article don't work, as stress medications may be in order.

As far as us emailing you, that is not something we do.  You should receive an email response to one of your own posts if you set up your profile that way, but otherwise we respond through this website.  If you need a tutorial, we have some
