For all you out there who's cats have swollen lower lips maybe even losing hair on that lower lip, I would ay money like me you are using back of the neck spot on flea treatment.
While for many cats it's great stuff I have had quite a few cats that react to it in this way.
I finally found out after spending loads of money at the vets purely by the process of ilimination. If your cats lower lip is swollen you will notic by the end of each treatment it improves. Try two month without and watch your cat get better. [emoji]128516[/emoji]

I am glad that you finally found out what was causing the problem with your cat and am sorry that it took loads of money to do so. The way things go for most of us. :shame: I have heard of this type of reaction too and also if you apply the product to low - between the shoulder blades then the cat can lick it right off thus putting it all over their mouth/lips. Nasty stuff for sure. Thanks for the head's up and something to consider when a cats lower lips are swollen.

good point. in fact, Advantage directions say to put it at the base of the skull.

I always advise this. I have seen many cats at the shelter, if product is applied to low, lick at the product and then begin foaming and running about crazily :( :(. Really almost to the very back top of the head, actually. Most people also don't part the cats hair well enough and the product runs down a bit on the hair. It is pretty amazing to see how cats can contortion their necks around to almost lick right behind their heads. :lol3:
