my husband and I were adopted by a stray mama cat recently and she decide to have her babies in our garage (it is detached and we don't put our cars or anything like that in there)so I couldn't turn her away.she had 4 beautiful very different babies and they are about 3 weeks old.today we heard one of the babies screaming and the mama cat seemed almost like she was pleading with us to help her.we found the baby and he had somehow ended up wedged in a chair we have in there as soon as we got him out we knew there was something really wrong because he is now dragging his back legs. I'm not a vet but I think his hip is dislocated and I don't know what to do. I can not afford what I'm sure would be a very expensive vet bill butI also cannot sit back and do nothing for this precious baby. Also I don't know if it would be OK to remove him from his mommy she is still caring for him like normal. I don't want him to die any advice would be helpful!

Is the kitten still able to nurse? If he cannot nurse, I would advise you to take him away from mom and try bottle feeding.
Was he dragging his legs before? Rarely, some kittens can be born paralyzed and are often do not have control over their bladder or bowels.
If he did dislocate his hips, then It would be best to take him to a vet, possibly be splinted. But considering he is very young, he may heal on his own. Is his hips swollen, purple, or cold in any way? If they're cold or purple, he may not be getting adequate blood flow and unfortunately under your circumstances, he may not make it. Check for signs if mama cat has abandoned him, if his belly isn't plump like his siblings, she may have sensed something wrong and separated him.
If this happens I would try bottle feeding.
If he isn't in pain (no screaming when that area is touched) then I would consider him to be okay and possibly heal on his own. It would be best to have him looked after by a vet.
If it's a last resort, try surrendering him to a No Kill shelter, they will have vets able to save the kitten and operate if needed.
If you could, take him to your vet and see what they say needs to be done, if it's something too expensive, I would consider the surrender. (Please ensure it is a no kill shelter)

My cat had a kitten that was dragging its back legs while the others were walking, she was just like seal.
I was so upset I thoughtful would have to have her put yo sleep. But not without a fight, I massaged her little hips and legs twice a day, I knew it was not hurting her as she did not cry out.
Give the kitten a chance it may just be painful bruising. Good luck x

I would take the kitten to the vet. Kittens that young are just developing and barely learning to walk. The vet can check if kitten's legs are out of socket, or just bruised from getting stuck in the chair. Kittens are pretty flexible. My little Koi was either abandoned by his mother, or unable to keep up when she moved. He possibly was tossed over the fence. The fellow at the Aqua shop next door to my vet's office found Koi. I thought he was only 3 weeks old, but the vet techs thought more around 4 weeks. He was not as coordinated for that age, and his back legs a little shaky or less steady. He  of grew out of it, but still walks with a swagger. He also may have come from a not so healthy mother.
