vomiting blood?!?

My cat has had a cold this past week but nothing serious. He's been sneezing and there's been a bit of discharge from his eyes, but he seems to have gotten over it. But when I woke up this morning, he had vomited four times! The vomit was more like bile, with no discernible food in it. But it was reddish, like there was blood. I'm taking him to the vet as soon as they open, but is there anything else I can do for him??

I don't think so, just get him to the vet as soon as possible. 

Blood vomiting is considered a pet emergency.

When does the clinic open?

Bile is very damaging to the esophagus. It could be possible that it caused some sores. I would take him to the vet immediately.
It could also be coloring from the food he eats, some foods have red dye in some if the pieces. Is his food colorful at all?
Either way he needs to see a vet. Withhold food for now and provide lots of water.

You can also try a spoonful if slippery elm, it's a natural pepto. This will help coat his stomach ang help with whatever is upsetting it.
