I let a pregnant really young cat in my basement cause we had a brutal cold snap here in Baltimore.so she had her kittens 5 with one born stillborn:( but the other 4 are thriving Scout,Flower,Maximus and Serena but I noticed that the kittens have something that looks like pink eye with discharge and there eyes will be glued shut.Looked on line but you know how that is.also I noticed mom Bella is having some really really bad gas with some diarrhea.is this from eating real cat food when all her life she's been I guess eating whatever or is it from her giving birth 3weeks ago? Any help or any advice you could give me would really appreciated.....thanks meg

21 days and their eyes still not opening? It could be from the cat food, what brand are you feeding her. Did you switch foods? Did this just started?

My guess is the bad gasses etc, is because of worms.  If she hasnt been properly dewormed, they all have, these outside living.  Some just a little, some quite bad.

Re the eye problem,  I would recommend seeing a vet with them.  They will probably need an antibiotical paste.

You can then ask the vet about suitable dewormers, for mom and the kittens.   Dont buy dewormers OTC if you dont know exactly what they are - there are some really bad or not so good.

Giving advices online has the drawback I dont know whay  the pharmacia or pet shops at your place do carry.   But the vet will know what there is to get, and if you will see him anyways...

So, mom surely, and kittens too - they get roundworms from mom.   and if they had fleas at any moment, they can have tape worms too.

Mom being homeless, could get herself tape worms from eating a prey.

What a pretty mom, I think she is a spotted tabby for real.

Tx for caring!

Good luck!
