Hairball stuck in cat..

A couple weeks ago this happened and it cost me a 200 trip to the vet.
He threw a tiny hairball this morning. He was just hacking and nothing came out. I went downstairs to feed my other cat and he wouldn't eat at first so I'm assuming he doesn't feel Well from it. He does take pepcid twice a day. Anyone have any quick remedies to help this? Thanks

what did the vet do last time? have you ever tried laxatone for hairballs? 

He was given a barium. Two days later he puked the thickest hairball I ever saw.
I have laxatone which I forgot, just gave him some . He hasn't done this ina while. I guess its the weather and shedding. I will try that. Thanks
