Hi, we really need some help! My cat starts to have a big belly, but it isn't round, it feels like she has a huge lamp on one side of her belly, and a little smaller on another side. some of her nipple are pink and big, some are really small and normal color. one of her nipple has like a big sac filled with some kind of fluid and very red. It's not painful, because she lets me touch it. she became very passionate lately, wants me to pat her belly. I don't feel any kitten movements at all. she has very good appetite, sleeps a lot. lately her belly is so big she can't clean herself. Unfortunately I can't take her to a vet now.

Sounds like she is, have she been outside? Is there any intact males cats in the house? When did you noticed her belly getting big?

Yes, she is indoor/outdoor cat. So, she had possibility. What is worried me, her redness near one of the nipple, and what some of her nipples are different from others. Also is it normal not to fill kittens movement at all?

That nipple is definitely not normal...it looks infected. I would worry about that first and foremost. When you take her to the vet for that, they can probably determine if she is actually pregnant as well. I hope she's ok! Good luck and keep us posted!

Would it be painful if it's infected? This was my first reaction - she has an infection! But she let me touch it and even apply some pressure. It feels like a semi-soft bubble filled with some liquid, kind of like a blister. I really can't take her to a vet now
, and she does not look sick at all, just very low energy...

The kitten movements are seen the last two weeks, maybe somewhat more.  So you will notice them in a couple of days, sort off...

I agree that nipple looks inflammed, and it will sooner get worse than better.

If you dont have any possibility to get to a vet, do you have other possibilities? to find someone knowleable who can advice you?  And also, to get antibiotical paste from somewhere?

In the meantime, you can try and  smear on some nice paste for irritated human teats.   Im not saying its good enough, but prob better than nothing.

Start to measure her temp in the armpit of the foreleg NOW, so you can notice if the temp is raising...   Also, it will usually drop the last day before delivery.

And try to raise needed money. Lend them or something...

You do have perhaps nearby some  low cost vet clinic?  The low cost clinics which are aplenty in the USA, they prob are willing to do basic vet treatment cheaper than the usual fashionable vet.

Please come with further reports and questions.

Good luck!

I was thinking of some ointment to put on her nipple, but I afraid she will get it in her mouth. It might poison her and/or her kittens. Do you know anything I can use?

Also, does a pregnant belly feel really bumpy or should it feel round like with humans?

Could you call your vet for advise? They may know of something you can do to help with the swollen nipple.

i agree take her to the vet and just get a check up.. dont buy the meds if they can tell you that you can buy it at walmart or dg. its way expensive... but it looks like she may have either scraped it or been licking it a lot and it may be inflammed. maybe try a luke warm towel and hold it there if you can get her to stay on your lap. if shes not preggers i would get her spayed/neutered. so you dont have any worries.

Thank you all for support and advises. It seems her nipple is not so red anymore. I mean it's still different color than surrounding skin, but doesn't look so inflamed. You can see a little blueish blood vessels near that site. And again, it doesn't bother her at all if I touch it.

I'm still not sure if she is pregnant or not. She was outside last time on January 24. We had the intact male cat at home (he was fixed by the end of February), but she usually doesn't like him and wouldn't let him near her. Plus, he's not even a year old yet. So if she got pregnant outside, she should have her babies already, but they (if any) don't even move yet, what mean she is at least two weeks before the due date, right?

This is really confusing to me. She's gained a lot of weight on her belly, but still skinny at her shoulders blades and on her back. She eats twice as much as before, and doesn't have any energy. She doesn't look sick, but I'm still worry a lot.

she might have hook worms or tape worms. tape worms will eat all the nutrient your cat needs to survive even if they have been dewormed before it may happen again, i would look at her rear end and see and her feces because if she has worms and you dont change their litter box more often thy will just contract them again. or she could have an inflammed intestine, my cat had the smae problem and they told me her food was digesting and she got clogged up basically. i wouldnt hesistate to call the vet or look online for more answers right now, if you dont do anything about it honestly you are just counting the seconds down until something is is worse then it is or she passes from being not treatedd for an ailment. i may not know too much but i do know a little about cats i worked at a vets office and they had cats come in with the same problems. if you love your kitty and our worried take it to the vet. or get some where you can trade work for vet assistance many places will have you clean stuff and help out to pay for the treatment maybe thats a thought you should consider calling a few and see what happens.
