Our new kitten has diarrhea! We took her to the vet to see if it could be worm related, but the vet said she doesn't have a fever and appears to be fine. We got a couple more deworming pills just in case. She was pretty thin to begin with, so we have been plumping her up with a regular amount of food (same amount as our first cat eats). The vet told us to just watch it and see if it goes away - if it doesn't go away within a couple of days, to bring her back in. Is there anything we can do in the mean time to help her feel better? I really want a healthy kitten and to make sure that no tummy troubles spread to my other cat!

Kittens get diarrhea a lot and there are too many possible causes to stew over.  The first thing to do is give them a bland diet, i.e. boiled chicken and rice, and see if that helps.  (This is not a permanent diet for a cat, just a stop-gap measure to see if it helps with the digestive issues.)  There are a lot of things in processed cat foods that they could be sensitive to, or it could just be a change of the food she was eating before.  Food changes should be done gradually, and you said she is a "new" kitten, so perhaps you could check with her former owner or foster or shelter and find out what she was eating before she came to your house and put her back on that at least for awhile to see if her tummy settles down.  If not, then start exploring all the other possibilities and their treatments.

How old is she? When was the last time you deworm her?

Did you change anything in her diet last few days? Changing her diet too fast could be a cause for diarrhea. Or perhaps she is sensitive to this certain food you give her. However, I wouldn't recommend to change the diet too fast, except when she is doing very bad on this food.

Try to mix it with other food if you think food is the cause.

Do you give her wet food? Is she used to it? Wet food can cause diarrhea as well, especially when they are not used to it.

Make sure she doens't get dehydrated. Try the skin trigger test to check for skin elasticity. This way, you can see if she is dehydrated.

I'd also follow the advice of your vet. If this doesn't go away within a few days, go back to the vet :)
Hope she feels better soon!
