I'm not kidding.
12 and a half year old strictly indoor, male cat on wet food only diet.
Gizmo was snuggling in my lap as I was petting him and doing my Momma Cat poking and prodding to make sure everything is as it's supposed to be on his squishy little loveable body when my hand glanced a small, crusty scab.
I cleared his fur away as bet I could and gave it a look with a flashlight (yay iPhone) and it flaked right off, like a dried up old scab. I figured he got into too tight of a hiding spot and scratched himself or got too aggressive with his grooming, but after checking the rest of his belly and looking at where the 'scab' came off of and then inspecting the scab I realized it was his nipple! I went back to count and he's definitely less one nip.
No bleeding or irritation at the site, no discharge, and he's not bothered by it at all. He was most bothered when I tried to pin hik down and get a better look. He is sleeping peacfully beside me right now.
We have a vet visit next month for a follow-up to constipation issues (Wellness Wet Food and Laculose are life savers, btw!) so I'll make sure to ask then but sort of looking to collect info now about what it might be cause ya know, cat nipples don't fall off everyday and I can't be the first one to have a pet with a janky nip LOL Right?!
