Our cat is going on 22 years and she has just started wobbling.

My husband rescued her and she's never been to vet since the age of 2 and we know that she'd freak out if we took her to one now.

We suspect that she was the runt of the litter.

Many areas have house call vets.  You can google it with your town name of zip code.  How do you know she would freak out if you took her in?

Take her to the vet. Wobbling is a concern at any time. I had one cat make it to 24. If it's any help my current cat adores going to the vet goodness knows why but he does.

She gets very scared cat. 10 years ago we tried to introduce a kitten, as a playmate for her, and she went into hiding for 3 days. After we gave the kitten back she went back to her normal self, that's how we know she'd freak out about something unexpected.

Thank you all for your inputs. However our cat has now turned for the worse and we're expecting her to pass away anytime. She has lived a good and loved life.

I'm so sorry to hear this.  22 years is a very long life.   I hope her passing is peaceful for you all.

22 years is a good long life for a cat!  Still, whether this is her time or she is just ill, it is worth knowing what is going on.

I understand how it would not be desirable to take her to the vet after all these years.  But the thing that makes me think you should consider it is in case she is suffering in pain.  This is very difficult for your or I to see on our own, but a vet diagnosis would be able to give you an idea how to keep her comfortable for her remaining days.  Look for a vet who will make a house call as suggested and it shouldn't be too traumatic for her.
