We recently adopted a 5yr old cat through a shelter and they didn't spay her because they said she looked as if she had been spayed, about 5 weeks ago I thought she might be pregnant and it was confirmed yesterday when i felt her breasts and the were big almost looking like she's a nursing mama does anyone have a rough idea on how far along she could be

Can you take a photo of her belly? Can you see kittens moving inside her or feel them?

I would say she about 7 to 9 weeks

Well there's a surprise! ;) See if the shelter will help with spaying/neutering the babies before they go to their new homes, since it was their mistake.

Usually you can feel them move in the last 2 weeks of pregnancy. How long has it been since you got her from the shelter? Has she been outside since you got her?

Yeah she went out a couple of times since we had her and we called the shelter and they said they will spay her but only now so they would abort the kittens :( so we will take care of it when she's finished nursing and before the kittens are adopted out

If you were suspecting pregnancy about 5 weeks ago, she's probably about 8 weeks along. You usually don't see any signs until 3 weeks along. So maybe about a week left.

My very pregnant cat I assume shes 7-8 weeks, all of a sudden has a burst of energy, shes running around the house like shes a kitten jumping on the couch and window sill, shes 5 yrs old. Is this normal for a pregnant cat?

Sounds to me like she is going to go into labor very soon. Maybe tomorrow. They don't all do this but some sure do.

Humans too!

One question, how many litters has she had?

I'm not sure how many she's had, we adopted her from a shelter about 5 months ago. She was lying on me last night and I felt a couple small wet spots i think her breasts are leaking

Sounds like she might be leaking.

I'm very surprised she is not spayed at her age! Or that the shelter would adopt her out still unspayed.

After this litter she really needs to get fixed, it's far too dangerous for her at this point, she is a high risk girl for reproductive problems/infections/cancer.

Keep us informed when she goes into labor and has her kits! We are here for support and help if needed.

Yes we plan on getting her spayed when we adopted her from the shelter they said she was a stray and they said she looked as if she had been spayed so they didnt spay her before the adoption when she got out we saw 3 big tom cats in our front yard and knew then she wasnt, thank you

Oh boy, 3 big boys!

   Surprise right?!

Bet more than one nailed her too, likely will have a variety of colors since they can be impregnated by multiple fathers.

Yeah it happens, if they see what might look like a very light scar they can think she was spayed very young as so many are, leaving suchh a small/faint scar it's hard to tell always.

I set up a box with a blanket for her about a week ago should I put a heating pad in there when the kittens are born? I'm not sure she will have them in there though she seems to like the corner under my kids bunk beds lol I have no idea what to expect or what to do

No need for a heating pad unless your house is extra cold, she will keep them warm.

Under the corner of the kid's bunkbeds is definitely not ideal. If you can, I would be keeping their door shut at all times so she doesn't have them there.

But she does need her spot. I suggest a quiet closet spot. Set her up in a private, quiet closet and keep the door just a little bit opened so she can go in and out.

Closets work very well!

Especially when there are kids around, their energy and noise level is stressful during/after delivery.
