Hi

First of all he may be going into remission for diabetes since hes been on cd hills(dry) forever but now eating fancy feast chicken classic for about 2 months.

My question is I want to switch to Chicken soup for the soul LIGHT... however it seems it is very high in carbs based on a site I found.  http://www.parenting-furkids.com/index.php?topic=747.0

Other sites have stated its good for diabetics and crystals.

So since I cant find a straight answer and am now very confused.... does anyone here know about or can recommend this food for my 11 year old's issues???

Thanks!!!!   :)

The same food that is good for diabetics is also good for urinary issues - canned food. You can keep feeding the Fancy Feast if it is working for the blood glucose levels. Are you adding extra water to the Fancy Feast? Getting as much water as you can into the cat through diet will help keep the urine diluted enough that cystals and other things dont tend to clump up and cause problems.

I would not feed a diabetic any dry food.

Are you a member of FelineDiabetes.com message board? If not, I highly recommend that you join to get more advice on the diabetes and other suggestions on what to feed for both the diabetes and urinary issues.
