I live next to a very busy road, so I made the descion to keep Kioto, my 9 month old kitten, in doors. But I will leave the door open with the screen door shut so she can hear and smell everything. Someones cat comes to visit her, a bit black fluffy one that is very sweet and might be a stray. But then comes the calico female, who will go up to the door and try and scratch at my cat and hiss sending my cat running for the hills...what do I do?

My suggestion would be to add a baby gate on your side of the door, to keep your cat a little further back from the visitors.  You can get the kind that just goes in the door frame with pressure and no permanent fixtures at WalMart for $10.  Also, I would not suggest keeping the door open unless you are present and making sure your cat is happy and feels sdafe.  If the scary calico comes, close the door.

A baby gate was my first thought.
