Hi all,

I have an outdoor kitty, ex feral cat. I noticed that she oftentimes has some slime in one eye, sometimes bronish, sometimes whitish. Shje doesnt rub it or shows any discomfort so I dont think it's an acute infection. I think maybe it's the tearduct thing that some cats have.

Anyway I was wondering is there any mild antibiotic agent that I can put in water when I wash the eye out? I remember my mother used to have something many years ago, it was actually some human natural medicine with antibacterial effect but I can't remember the name anymore and unfortunately I can't ask my mother anymore either :( so I thought I ask around here if there is any advice.

Thanks

Update on this in case somebody needs info: I started to clean her eyes with wet cat cleaning towels from the petstore. It removes dried tear liquid every day and also I get a bunch of tiny hair in the towels as if she doesn't really clean herself very well, which I know she does not anyhow so I have to brush her every day. Since I do that, I think the situation has improved, maybe she is really just a bead cleaner and her eyes have problems when the dried tear stuff is not removed every day.
