One of my kittens is getting neutered today. They said he would be ready to go home tonight, but I forgot to ask about home being able to play. I'm sure he will have take it easy for a few days so he doesn't rip a stitch. I have another cat though so I'm sure he will want to run around and play with him. I don't really have a room to shut him in to keep them separated. I could use the bathroom or laundry room but I think he will try to dart out when the door opens. Should I see if someone had a dog crate I can use? Or do you think he will not even feel like playing for a few days?

They do need to rest for a few days after the surgery. He may not even be up to playing, but if he is too rambunctious, then I'd say the dog crate is a good idea.

Well he didn't even get a stitch. I guess they either do it different with dogs, or things have changed since my last pet got neutered. He has been more active than I thought he would be. Of course the new toys and cat food I ordered came today, the kids wanted to open the box, and I had to use the toys because both the cats got excited, then they were playng in the box for a bit, but no one really jumped on anyone else. Tomorrow may be a differnt story though.

He was meowing a little when he came home, but it could have been becuase he was so hungry too. My cats are hardly ever vocal.

Male cats don't really require any recovery time, except from the anesthesia. Let him play if he wants. There's nothing that can be hurt from him playing or even jumping. The only thing I'd say is really a restriction is to not bathe him or let the surgical area get wet, as this can lead to infection.
