Is it Cat constipation or normal?

Hello everyone
I am here just to get some help from u experts...since i am lost in this country's vets..
I found a lost cat in my street
She was gonna be killed by a dog i took her home
Then posted pictures for her all around the street no one called me
i even asked the buildings around me thought..
Then i decided to keep her home till some one call me..and 2 weeks passed
The thing i noticed is that she doesnt poop..
3 days she didn..even though i brought her new litter box and every thing a cat need
She digs and go away
I asked my friends in my coubtry they asked me to give her oliv oil with food
That didnt help also
So i took her to a vet..
And i am in turkey so those people here doesny know a word in english
I used a dictionary bla bla
The vet understoos what's wrong after 1 hour (or he seemed to )
He gave me a medicen name
Its called duphalac and made out of lactulose
After several tries
He told me to give her 1 tea spoon every day morning...
I did that plus checked online
And gave her foods like cooked chicken with some vegetables so it should be (wet food)
Plus i havnt gave her any dry food before
Now she poop once every 2 days
Is that normal or what please i am doing sth wrong ..
And she drinks water normaly..
I wrote to much but i am trying not to miss any info...
Plus her poop before the medicine was black and dry
Now it looks kinda normal..
Should i keep giving her this medicine?
Any other medicines i can try since vets here drives me crazy ..

Sounds like your doing what you should be.

Lactulose works well for constipation.

Moist food will help.

Both will keep the poop soft and moving.

Most of my cat's go every day.

If she is not running around , crazy, trying to loosen things up, I think every other day is ok.

I heard that once a day is what considered normal thats why i was afraid
I told u guys that story because i was thinking maybe she is having troubles with new food or the new life...
She is definitely a home cat since she knows how to open doors her nails are trimmed and she is already used to use littirbox
So what do u advice me to do?
Change food or keep giving her this medicine or what ..

My cat takes Laculose everday. Start giving small amounts and keep giving more until she poops every day or every other day, give a little less if it causes her to have diarreah.

Wet food only, dry food is terrible.

You can even mix water into the food with the laculose to make it like porridge. That's how give Gizmo his Laculose and make sure he stays hydrated.

Actually i think the lactulose is the reason she is having alot of gas recently
And i think she had a stomachache from it
(As i checked its side effectes)
So i am putting 3 or 4 drops only in her water bowl everyday for her
She is good now
By good i mean she poops every 2 days once
Withoutany difficulties taking it out so...
I think this is her digestive system
Plus i dont give her any dry food
I cook for her
Meat chicken and some vegetables
Plus she doesnt eat that much so 2 days is normal
The only problem i am having is she is being a little bit aggressive (butes my hand when i want to pet her not too hard but it hurts:s)
Anyway i am keeping this cat)

try adding water to her food. Make it the same consistency as a stew  or soup: what ever she will eat...

Is there any possible way plain canned pumpkin would be available to you?

They say that does wonders for constipation or diarrhea....the fiber helps...

It has to be PLAIN pumpkin~~~~~~~so additives! No spices...just plain, canned pumpkin

In a bind, you could substitute PLAIN Pumpkin or Squash Baby food....Make sure there are no additives...just squash.........

Hi In regards to your Kitty I belong to a group that deals with constipation and mega colon.You may want to google mega colon in cats.The only way it is diagnosed is an abdominal xray.You can also google xrays of a cat with MC.You may just be dealing with constipation.Hair can cause havoc as well in the gut.We at this group use miralax mostly.Or another name is peg3350.Here in Canada & The US it is available over the counter at most drugstores.In Turkey it may go by another name.We find it far superior to lactulose.It is white powder.tasteless ,odorless something you would add to a small amount of meat.Usual starting dose is around 1/4 tsp twice per day.If your kitty has MC then another med is often used cisapride.Cisapride helps stimulate the colon to help move the stool down.Mega Colon  meaning Big colon.It is treatable and we deal with people all over the world.I just dealt with a lady in Ecuador where she ordered miralax I believe from Amazon.She was also on lactulose.Her kitty is doing so much better now.Try googling in your country peg 3350.They make many forms as this is a human stool softener so is lactulose.Some have flavorings & extra electrolytes.You DO NOT want this.The ingredients on the container should only say peg3350.Nothing else.And yes for this to work excellent added water to canned meat is essential.You are welcome to join our group if you like.Our link is   https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/FELINE_MEGACOLON/info  HTH.Hugs In Turkey.C.
