Hello hello to all! ;)

How do your cats drink water?

Morgana: She is a dunker - she dips her paw in the water, scoops and licks/drinks from the paw.

Camelot: He drinks the "normal" way :lol2: With his tongue, lapping it up.

oh Canada~
Kismet drinks the normal way. I haven't seen Mo drink water in almost a year, but since his food is so watery, he just laps it too.

I think dunkers are so cute, but maybe a little inconvenient when messy.

One of my friends brought in a stray's kitten to keep (when the rest + mom got rehomed), and she didn't know how to drink water, so she used to dunk her paw. She drinks normally now, but there was one point early on where my friend would get a straw and use it almost as a syringe and drip water into her cat's mouth in an effort to "teach" her to drink.

Oh that's cute, giving kitty water with a straw.

Mine are all normal.

One of my kitties starts with his paw and then switches to drinking normally.  My other one just laps up the water from the beginning.  I have read that kitties will do the paw thing so they are sure where the water is.  It would be so undignified to misjudge and dunk their face in the water.

I am loving this thread!

Speedy has a fountain in the kitchen, but she mostly drinks with her tongue from a pail  in the bathroom!  The pail came about a couple years ago during hurricane season and I was worried about power outages, so I placed a pail of water in the bathroom in case I lost power.  Since then, it has become Speedy's pail
Sometimes she will sit and drink with her neck over the edge or sometimes, stand up on the rim and drink.

I heard some cats drink from faucets, but I never had a cat that did.

The normal way. I think I've only seen Angel drink water a couple of times in the past year or so too. Ever since he had cystitis twice in 2012, I add water from the PUR filter in his Rx wet food, so he gets plenty of water that way, so never see him drinking. I always change it & keep it fresh though, ....just incase he's drinking some when I'm not looking, or around.
