Our little buddy is gone from pancreatic cancer

Yesterday we lost our little buddy.  His illness and death came on sudden.  We learned on Sunday that he was in the advanced stages of pancreatic cancer.  He was so tough, he never complained or let us know he was sick in any way. He was still just as sweet, obedient, caring, and loving life. Everyone that ever met him joked that they were going to "steal him" because he was a perfect little guy. He greeted us at the door every day, gave us little "head butts" as we sat down right before he would cuddle, and always showed his appreciation for being a part of the family. But it was really us that were lucky to have him as ours. He was just so great. We find solace in knowing that his pain is over but his loss is overwhelming. We cannot imagine how to feel better at this point, feeling like there is a hole in our hearts. He was so affectionate and sweet.  We love you buddy and we'll never forget you.

Oh dear, so sorry for your loss. Seems like you all enjoyed his company very much. It will be much easier to grieve as obviously the whole family feels the loss and you can all share your favorite and funniest memories of him and keep him that way in your collective memory. Enjoy those moments, replay them in your mind, or just cry it out if you feel the need to ...

Thank you for your thoughts! Unfortunately, our family has down sized to myself, my husband, and our other blue Russian cat. But, we are trying to appreciate our other cat, that she is still healthy and safe. We certainly, will love that there are other people out there that understand and we can be honest with how much it hurts.

I am so sorry for your loss of your little guy.  It sounds like he was a loving and gentle cat.   I know also, how devastating it is.  Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.  

I'm so sorry to read of your loss. Perhaps the cancer spread more quickly than you think, and he didn't suffer as much as you fear. At least now he's past the pain and is frolicking on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. You'll meet him there one day.

I know what you mean about taking solace from your remaining cat. We had Mr. Grimsby put to sleep last Friday, but we still have Bertha. She even looks a bit like him (I imagine your two resembled each other from the picture you posted). She's not Mr. G, but she's a sweet cat, and deserve recognition in her own right. I'm working on that, to ease my grief over the loss of Mr. G and because she reminds me why I love cats.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Yes we do understand the pain. I lost my boy around mid July last year and am still grieving and missing him. They are our family and our children. A huge part of out lives. When they are gone a huge part of our life goes with them as does a huge part of ourselves.

My condolences. It's tough to lose a beloved pet, whether suddenly or following a long illness.

Reading your replies brings tears, but great comfort you all care. Thank you, it's so nice.

My heart goes out to you, your husband, and your remaining sweet girl, I know the emptiness it brings to your house and the pain it brings to your hearts. Time will soften the pain, and please try to remember that your sweet boy would never want you to remember him with such sadness, he will remain forever in your memories, cherish them, they are precious. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, I'm so sorry for your loss. RIP sweet boy, you were an angel in real life and will continue your role at the Rainbow Bridge!

I am so, so sorry for your loss.  It must have been very difficult to cope with such a sudden decline in your little guy's health.  Sending you love and holding your hand (virtually) in your grief.

They take up such a big part of our lives that the whole is quite large in the beginning!  He will wait on the other side for your return.  Had to let my fur baby go two months ago & still sob for him daily.  Sorry for your loss.
