Hello,
I have a two yr old female that is in labor she had one kitten so far unfortunately the little buggah didn't make it, this is her second pregnancy the first one none of the kittens survived I didn't want her to go through that again but she became pregnant again, I am very concerned because I am pretty sure I can still feel one baby in her possibly two but it has been over twenty four hours and still no babies I know she is still in labor but she's eating and drinking fine and using the litter box but she is still following me everywhere and meowing.is this normal? What should I do? She is not bleeding, no discharge I'm wondering if I should just take her to the vet or wait a bit longer an if so how much longer should I wait?

What you do, depends on the EXACT situation.   What do you mean by this "I know she is still in labor".

IS she in labor or is she not, pausing and without any troubles?

If she is in labor, we dont like long prolonged, ufruitful labors.  Away asap to the vet!   Or at the very least, phone and ask.

If she had paused in the labor, and there doesnt seem to be any problems, you can wait and see,  even if you know there are still kittens inside.  These pauses can be hours long, but even days long.   Be vigilant, but you dont need to panic.

How did the stillborne / soon dead one looked?  Fully done, fur and decently round as babies are, or was it premature, almost hairless, scrawny like a newly hatched bird?

If the second, visibly premature, its just natural the other are still in the owen, maturing.   And with any luck, they will be delivered in their proper time, when they are done properly.

But as said, everything depends on if the mom is entirely, without visible distress nor troubles.

If you are unsure, phone your vet, he will know which follow up questions to give.

Good luck!

Yeah I meant she was in labor had the still born, which was fully developed fur, shape etc was fine. After that she stopped pushing an was not in any duress but starting this morning she has been having contractions. She has been licking herself as she does when she secretes before the baby an a little after. She has been eating fine and using the litter box like nothing is wrong. I am just concerned that its been so long and I didn't know if she was in any danger, or if this was something that happens, such a pause and time lapse. Her first pregnancy was much different she had them pretty much back to back they were fully developed as well two were still born and one lived for a few days she took very good care of the baby. So now knowing that she has not been in labor the whole time but has just started again this morning what do you suggest? Thank you so much for your input it is greatly appreciated.

OK, so its not critical, but not so good either.  We dont like long labors, especielly for the  kittens after the first, which should go quicker.  Experienced advisors says 30-40 minuters of labor with following kitten, and if no results, contact your vet.

You yourself tell in her first occasion, they were born stright after each other.

Yes, contact your vet asap, and be ready to rush in.

Good luck!

ps.

Cesaean may be touchy in unclare cases. Mom will be saved all right, but if the kittens  are alive AND premature, they will be in deadly danger if taken out too early.

With humans it is no problem, but with cats it is often touchy.

Here they seems to be fully made, as the first stillborne was  done.

So, if the vet suggest cesarean, you do have my fully blessing for it.

Good luck!

Update she did have two more kittens that the vet successfully took out, unfortunately they were still born as well. Thank you for your help! Mom is doing great and will not be having any more babies. Thanks again!

Pity the kittens werent alive, but we are perhaps not too surprised.  As both the first litter, and the first delivered in this litter, werent.

Main thing the moms live is saved, and now she will live a good and healthy life, together with you.

Tx a lot for the report!   I was wondering.

Good luck!
