My cat is 8 weeks pregnant, she entered 8 today. But since last night she seems different , her belly is tightening and then turns soft again. She doesnt let me sleep at all, she doesnt want to be alone. she seems to be having contractions, but they are like an hour or two apart, this is going on for 24 hours almost. And in the mean time when she is not having contractions she is pretty happy, eats sleeps plays. The kittens in her belly move but not a lot as if I have read that before labour they begin to move a lot. She is not panting, she doesnt have a discharge...

It is her first and last litter, and her belly is pretty big, so maybe there are too many kittens for her to keep inside, maybe they are too crowded . Or maybe she has fake contractions, I dont know what to think of this situation. At first I didnt want her to continue the pregnancy, but now since I felt the kittens move, I just fell in love with them without even seeing them. So I dont want them to be born prematurely and die :(
Help me please people, Im really scared and worried.

I hope its some sort of precontractions.  These are common enough.  A way of Mother Nature to train up the muscles for the real labor when it comes.

Its very unusal they are TOO many.   Even if they are 8 or 9.

But if you do worry, do contact your vet.  I hope you do have one?

Good luck!   @Divasmommy

ps.  Have you got / seen our links?

Thank you for you answer, I really do hope that is the case . I dont know much about cat pregnancies cuz my previous cats were all spayed and neutered, this is our first time thats why I thought maybe she is not in a condition to hold that many kittens.  Yes I have a vet, I called her she said to not take her to the office since that will stress the cat further more, and also she said if the cat is in labour there is nothing she can do to prevent it,.She told me to wait but Im too anxious , I feel so sorry for her and the kittens , I feel guilty for not being able to do anything for her.  :(
