I have to part with my little guy due to moving in my girlfriend who is pregnant. He wont be safe for around a baby  and my gf is afraid if his disposition. I have a home for him but looking for advice on a process to help him adjust to his new owner so she ll decide to keep him.  For example is it best to spend a little time with him in the new place and then gradually spend less time so he bonds with the new owner more.

I'm not sure I understand. Why wouldn't his new owner keep him?  Is she unsure about the adoption because he has behavior issues?   It  might help to turn his new owner on to this site as there is tons of invaluable information on helping cats of all kinds adjust to new homes.

As for spending time with him after you've rehomed him - I'm curious to see what more experienced cat people think because I keep going back and forth on it.   It would definitely give you an opportunity to make sure he is being treated well and it would give you a chance to show the new owner what to do when he acts up.  It also might make it easier on you since you are going to miss him so much.  I'm just wondering if it might interfere with the bonding process between him and his new owner?  Other more knowledgeable people can probably weigh in on that.

I think it's great you are so willing to provide follow up to him after he is rehomed, regardless of what you do.

I would like to know what is the behavior issue is? If he is aggressive, why is he aggressive?  Is he neutered and up to date with the vet?  Why does your gf not like him or want him around?

Please provide more info so we can help you.

Make sure to bring all of his things to the new owner's home to help him adjust.

Hes aggressive cause he rejects anyone that isnt me or comes between him and me he screams and hisses when he freaks out even i have to wear gloves to put him in his crate . I appreciate all your input and have tried with all his belongings . The Home he was going to didnt work cause she has too many immature guests that would taunt him . so furry friends said they will take him. Thank you all again . Spca will just euthanize him
