Our cat got out of the apartment late Wednesday night and we didn't know. She has been gone for, well today is her 5th day gone. We are just devastated by her being missing, worrying about her. We have searched during the day and at night. We leave food out and have even put vacuum debris outside in hopes she'll smell it. We have posted flyers and spoke to neighbors.  We are going to put up REWARD flyers hoping that will help bring her home to us.  It's so hard to lose a pet this way. Please give me hope she'll return to us. We just love her so much.

I'm so sorry to hear this.  Have you checked with local vets and shelters? Maybe someone found her and turned her in somewhere.  Is she microchipped?

When one of my old cats escaped, she would hang out on the sidewalk and nearby apartments but would not come to me when I called her.  She just stared at me and walked the other way.  She was out on our patio and we accidentally closed the door for the night, not knowing she had gone outside.  I think she was scared, or maybe just excited to be outside, but I know she was hungry.  It was heartbreaking to see her and not be able to get her safely inside.

A neighbor who happened to do animal rescue work loaned us a live trap.  We set it up on our front porch and caught her on the 2nd night (caught a possum on the first night). She'd been outside for 11 days and was hungry.  Is there a local shelter nearby who might be able to loan you a live trap for a few days?  I hope you get your kitty home soon!

Hello @danhaiser

First of all, don't give up. One of my cats was gone for three and a half weeks and I managed to bring her home again. She was less than a mile from home, just didn't know how to get back until she heard my voice. So please keep calling, searching and hoping.

There are some tips on here that might be useful.

Really hope you find her again.
