I'm glad that people on this site (for the most part) are generally kind and supportive. I was on a message board on a different website today that is supposed to be a place for people to talk about their experiences and share advice. I made a post about a difficulty that I was having and asked for some opinions on what I should do. The first response I received was "Kill yourself." Then some other people jumped on the bandwagon and began suggesting ways that I should do it. I was called various names as well. I don't usually cry or get upset about things that people post online because I know that they are just trolls that like to start arguments. I have been having a really rough time and been depressed lately though, so I started bawling like a baby. Silly, I know. I wish that people would actually take the time to think before they post cruel things online.

Yes there are a lot of cruel trolls out there!  Or they get all political etc.  I am sorry that you encountered such cruelty on that web site. Of course you should probably sever your account or whatever. I don't know if the cat site has a place for what you need, but there are a lot of compassionate people on this site, and I think there might be an area where you can discuss your concerns. Don't let the trolls get you down - you are smart enough to realize them for what they are, even in your pain.

I'm sorry that happened to you.  Trolling and online bullying are real issues.  While the internet can help you anonymously share things you might not want to share with people in your day to day life; it also lets people hide behind a computer when spewing their garbage.  It's both juvenile and cowardly.

I hope things start getting better for you soon!

I'm so sorry this happened to you. :hugs: I've read comments people have made on Facebook and they are just jaw-dropping at times. It's amazing what people will say under the anonymity of the Internet.

I can't stress enough that if anyone reading this ever sees something questionable here on this site, to please report the post by clicking on the red flag in the lower left-hand corner of the post. We really try hard to keep this place friendly. No one other than the Mods will know that you reported the post.

I hope things look up for you soon. :hugs:

Internet trolls and bullies are some of the lowest life forms on the planet. They thrive on picking on people while hiding behind a keyboard and say things that they would never have the guts to say to someone in person. We get them here every now and then. Fortunately, Anne and the mods get rid of them very quickly. Please don't listen to people like that. Happy people never kick someone when they are down. They try to help them come back up. I don't know what you're going through but most things are temporary even if they seem like they aren't at the time. I hope that you find the help and guidance that you're looking for. In the meantime, please try to stay strong.
