I found this Core Wellness wet food. It is Beef Venison and Lamb. My cat LOVES it. Anyone hear anything good or bad about feeding cats these proteins?

Not sure what you're looking for here with this question.  If your cat loves it and can tolerate it, great!  Some cats cannot digest beef, others have no problems with it.  My old girl used to eat this very food, then suddenly she decided she didn't like it anymore.  Neither of the boys ever liked it.  Cats are funny that way.  With Mine, Darko loves Fancy Feast Classics BEEF, but runs from the room if I serve up Sheba Beef Pate, and the Sheba is actually a better food, IMO.  Callie, on the other hand, now prefers the Sheba over the FF (beef)  Darko will throw up raw Venison, but can eat canned.  Go figure.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with feeding any of the proteins in that Wellness.

More less the safety of the protein in general. You know how cats should not consume too much fish cause it is really not that good for them etc. I did find an article since I posted this that says beef is actually not hard for them to digest. Might be why mine is liking this so much. I guess it is a great alternative for cats who have allergies to poultry too.

My cats are not A fan of hoofed animals! Mine like chicken, duck, rabbit and Tuna
LOL... yah these cats man are so funny on how different they are when it comes to dinner time.

I still have yet to try rabbit with mine. Duck seemed a little too greasy and I think it upset her belly. Any suggestions for a good wet pate in rabbit?

Right now she gets her poultry in turkey dry food but I like to also give her wet in the morning. She has been quit picking lately where this cat use to eat anything you put in front of her.

Lamb can be a bit too fatty for some cats if it's not mixed with another type of meat, but others do fine on it. Beef (or veal) is good if the cats aren't allergic to it and like it. Venison (actually, reindeer) is extremely popular among the cats at our local shelter, and Mogli loves it and does very well on it. He's allergic to chicken, so he gets reindeer and veal, among other things like kangaroo and rabbit.

Nature's Variety has a good rabbit pate. Mine have eaten it in the past with no problem. I haven't bought any lately. I'll be going to Petco this weekend. I'll grab a few for the rotation

This is great to hear!!! She seems to really like it (for now ha ha). I will buy her some more now that I know it's safe to feed regularly.

Oh man she won't eat this brand of wet food. I tried it and both my cats snubbed their noses at it. They don't seem to like the wet foods that resemble human food. Like the ones that look like soup or stew with visible vegetables and stuff in them.

I tried Ichabod on the Chicken dry food with the freeze dried pieces from this brand too and she did good on it for a while and then started to throw up so I put her back on her Blue Buffalo Limited Ingredient Grain Free for Mature cats and she is fine again.

Ichabod use to only like pate. Then.. out of nowhere once she tried the Wellness Healthy Indulgences chunky food in gravy wanted nothing to do with pate after that. Now she won't eat the pieces of chunky meat and will only lick up the gravy. I didn't like the idea of her only have gravy all day while I was at work. I know all she does is sleep but that is not good for her. I even smoothied it and she licked that up for a few days and then changed her mind. I was switching up the flavors on rotation even and it didn't seem to matter. She use to be fine with chicken based wet foods and then started to get picky wanting poultry mixed with fish flavors. That worried me as I knew too much fish isn't good. But she only gets the wet in the morning and then some dry in the evening which is turkey based and she loves it. It's the only dry I have ever transitioned a cat to that didn't get them sick. I had to quickly transition my cats when one got very ill and stopped eating. It was amazing how they took to it and didn't get sick without putting part of the old food in the mix. Pretty impressed so I have stuck with it. Noticed the hair balls and throwing up stopped after they got off that terrible Science Diet. I never realized how many fillers were on there until they were getting sick from it.

I just happened to come across this Wellness pate in the Beef Venison and Lamb and thought lets try pate again because I know my cat has had steak before and loved it. I give her this pate now and she has been begging me for it and licking her plate clean. I fear to purchase too much of anything as she keeps changing her mind. My one cat that got ill passed from fatty liver so I tend to do what this one wants no matter how picky she gets. I know how detrimental it is if she skips a meal (learned that the hard way
).

I understand about picky eaters. I have 2 of them. I found 3 new foods to add to the rotation that all 3 of my kitties have given their seal of approval to. They like Merrick chicken, duck and turkey pates, Red Barn's Tricky Chicky and I and Love and You's Chicken Lickin Good (pate). I and Love and You also has a Wascally Wabbit pate also but I haven't gotten that one yet. I wanted to see how they did with the chicken first. i think I'll try it out on them.

I took Pride by Instinct's rabbit out of the rotation because they stopped eating it. I believe that they started sourcing their rabbit in France now and this might be it. Who knows? The girls are so fussy. Especially Lilith. PBI rabbit comes in minced and sliced I believe.

I am starting to wonder if they are not picking but more less telling us something about the changes in the food. Like you said with the rabbit/France etc.

Ichabod loved that Wellness food in the pouch. She would eat it up and lick up the gravy. Then she just didn't want the pieces of meat anymore. And I kept to three different flavors on rotation that she always loved. So who knows. I did buy the Wellness core in the all fish variety and then the Turkey and Duck too. She ate the last of the Beef, Venison and Lamb this morning ha ha. So we will see how breakfast goes tomorrow when I put one of other flavors down ha ha.

I was also starting to wonder if it was a chicken thing with Ichabod too. She doesn't seem to enjoy just chicken or like chicken and chicken liver type foods anymore. Seems like they have to be mixed with something else to get her to eat them.
