Hi Anthony! I hope you come back to check your thread and very sorry for the delay in response. Hopefully bumping this thread will also get you another reply or two.

Many cats when stressed will lash out at a nearby dog/cat or even human. It really is very common and doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your cat other than being a bit high strung or stressed. I will post an article or two for you to look over and hopefully will get some answers as well. I had a cat such as that at one time. My dogs got the brunt of his aggression too. Your dog sounds very sweet, thank goodness. :rub: Recently, I have tried using Jackson' Galaxy's Spirit Essences on my bully cat and it is working beautifully. You may want to try something like that for your kitty. http://www.spiritessences.com/?Click=3511

Finding out the stressors will help to intervene before your cat gets to the boiling point. Sort of becoming a mediator and trying to find out what triggers these episodes thus trying to avoid them or distract your cat. Feliway plug ins work for some cats also. I have good luck with them too. http://www.feliway.com/us/ Both the Essences and Feliway, I purchase on Amazon and are a bit less expensive then.

Articles to help and some food for thought. :)

I have also found that teaching my cats about the Clicker, helps to re-direct attention before bad behavior initiates, or if something startles them thus bringing about dissention among them. The clicker and treats are a really good behavior modification solution. http://www.thecatsite.com/a/clicker-training-for-cats
