Hello I am new here and I have a few questions. I got a cat from a lady who told me she was spayed. Well come to find out she wasn't. About three weeks after I got her I started seeing signs of pregnancy. Her belly was bigger. She was eating like a horse and having a little morning sickness. From judging I'd say she must have gotten pregnant right before I got her because we have no other animals and she has never gotten out. So my question is how far along is she because she is doing all the tell tell things of being ready to deliver but she is very small. She has a round belly but not to big her teets are big and they hang and have milk. She is nesting quite a bit an cleaning her girl parts a lot. She follows me around all the time from room to room. But I have taken her temp and she's at a steady 100.5/100.7 for the last two weeks. I can't feel or see any babies move but I do feel two little lumps that seem to float away when I gently touch them. Also tonight I gave he her nightly can of soft food and she barley ate anything but has acted totally normal with a temp of 100.7 I'm so confused. I think I've been to every site known to man and it seems her actions are all over the map. Can anyone help me? I just wanna be around when she has them to make sure everything is OK. I've made her a box she go's into but she's still nesting a lot. Lastly she's about a year maybe a little less from what the lady told me and from doing research on line.

When exactly, did you got her then?

The temp drops one day before the delivery.  If you dont feel them kittens move, she is probably NOT into the 2-3 weeks zone before delivery!

Another possibility it is a false pregnancy.  Not very common, but it happens.

Im sending our usual links, and please continue to report and ask further quetions!

Good luck!

It may still give about day 50.  Perhaps one reason she was given away was her being in intensive heat.

Of course, kittens movements are usually felt day 50, with 14 to go.   But cats are no automatos, there is some leeway with almost everything.

Good luck!

I took in a pregnant stray a couple of months ago. Took her to the vet March 3rd because she was huge & no labor. Vet did x-rays, which showed 4 kittens that he said weren't ready yet. He gave it 7 to 10 days, but it actually took 12 more days! She delivered 4 beautiful, healthy kittens 5 days ago (this past Sunday)! It was 68 days. It sounds like your cat is definitely pregnant, and is getting very close. If you count 28 days in Feb, plus 20 for March, that's 48. Since you never let her out, you know it happened before you got her, so you could add in maybe a week, which would be about 55 days. Your cat could still need a week to 10 days. My cat's nipples were engorged for a good 2 weeks before she gave birth. In fact, I thought she must have been overdue & miserable. Unless you just want confirmation, I would wait another week. Good luck & keep us posted!

Yes that's what I was thinking I actually palpatated her today and felt a faint kicking almost a few hiccups that lasted for about thirty seconds so I think I may have felt them moving a teeny bit. Yes I'm going to wait a few I will post pics of momma. She isn't very full with baby. She seems to be carring low at times other times has a swollen belly but has milk and a lot of it. Has had milk for about three weeks now

Hi I just posted a few days ago and had another question if I might. Momma kitty I'm assuming is around fifty days along and just today I thought I felt what seemed to be hiccups or very slight kicks. Are these her babies or is this gas or other things in her belly that might be causing movement like this. She is very petite and seems to show at times and at other times looks almost the same as when I got her. I've been feeding Her wet and dry a few times a day. Also just today she was irritated with me touching her belly an normally loves when I do. And tonight she has become very playful unlike the last week where she had slept most he days away. I work long hours but have given my boss heads up just in case I have to be late if she gos into Labor. She is a first time mom small and about 10 months to a year so I'm very concerned plus new to all of this.thanks in advance. P.s also I got her from a woman who says she was fixed when I got her. And IVE seen no signs of heat from the time I got her. But she had milk and Licks vigorously down there as well as her teets hang down but didn't when I got her.

Both are possible!  You will know several hours or a couple of days later, if you still feel them.  I mean, if it is kittens for real, you should feel them more and more. Both them moving more, and you more used to palpitate.

If you are in speaking terms with your boss, tell you what situatlion you are in, IF.  But as we understand, you arent yet in the zone of immediately coming delivery.

I would even say, the question still remains if it is a fantom pregnancy.   A vet would know at this stage, by ultrasound or a good knowleable palpitation.  Or X-ray, but x-ray usually cost heavy money.

Do you have anybody nearby, who is used to palpitate cats?  A breeder or rescuer? It may be a cat person, a dog person, even a rabbit person...

That's a beautiful cat. And you are right, she's very small, but they can go into heat very young. It sounds like you should go ahead to the vet to confirm pregnancy, otherwise you will drive yourself crazy. Vets are usually open at least a half day on Saturdays. I took my cat in for an x-ray to confirm & to see about how far along she was. It relieved my mind and made the waiting easier. By the way, my cat's belly became rock hard, and the vet said at that stage it's difficult to feel the babies move.

I felt babies move all around today and even felt a little head and a spine I almost cried. So I'm thinking maybe two more weeks pregnant so. If she go's any linger than that I will have a vet check her. She is super engorged with milk an purring constantly. And thank you for helping I really appreciate it.

Eve our pregnant cat is around 55 days along or more not sure as due to the fact I adopted her from a woman who said she was fixed. So she may be farther along than that. Well she has stopped eating last night he just had a few bites of her nightly wet food and NKW hasn't ate a thing all day. She has also been throwing up watery light brown with a yellow ting. So far she has thrown up three times since this morning at six a.m . She is also sleeping a lot today almost all day and she keeps getting Close time warm things and sleeping as in the coffee pot and the Xbox wanting to stay those places. Most the time she stays in my room but I also caught her up in the cabinet today she stayed there for hours. No sign of labor.she just seems sleepy and cold and very calm yet not wanting to be touched like she normally does. Is she about to go into labor? I took her temp this morning and it's 100.4 so it's normal. Also she'sa very young cat 10 month to a year so I'm assuming this is her first litter and has had her milk in for about three weeks now and last week was eating like she was starving.

Oh and this could be because she's getting ready or because she's ate too much with an already full stomach OR fur that she's been grooming herself with. Cats are insane survivors they will only need your help for clean up :( lol good luck!

What are her temperatures othewise?  Is the 100,4 her normal temp or has it lovered?

Anyway, try to get her some warmt source at her sleeping place.  A rice socket, warming pad, or a warm water bottle.  Have a tovel on this heat source.

Cats can stop eating a day. And especielly if they very near delivery.   This throwing sounds alarming, althoug.  Three may still be normal, but if she continuse...

I mean, she can got be sick even is she is high preg.  Some virus perhaps.    Although peculiar enough, it seems high pregs surprising seldom got sick.  I suspect the immune system is high sky active.

Be sure she is drinking. Be prepared to entice her to drink, even forcefeed if necessary.  Best is some sort of pedialyte, bough or home-made.

Get home some flasks of minerale water, and glucose sugar.   Let the gas out from the minerale water, add some glucose sugar... and voilá, you do have a good homemade pedialyte.

Give in very small portions if she is much prone to throwing up, so the stomach will never register she is getting in the water.

Continue with reports!

Good luck!
