My cats ears and forehead seem a bit warmer than usual?

Not hugely worried but wondering if it means anything. His nose is still cool and damp. Peeing ok; meowing a bit more than usual. He does seem ok otherwise.

Seems to me his forehead and ears weren't quite this warm before. They do cool off when he sleeps, but it's like if he's up, he's a bit restless and feels a bit warm in these areas.

Anything to worry about or am I just a fussy cat mom?

I think we all are a bit fussy worried kitty mom's most of the time. :lol3: This is a great question too!! A cat's ears are just one part of the body that helps to regulate temperature. The pads on the bottom of the feet are another area that I would recommend you check to see if they are also hot. When a cat's ears are very hot to the touch and her pads, this can, but not always, indicate a fever. It may be simply that your cat has been lying in the sun, or has become overheated in some way and the body is attempting to cool down. You do mention that when he is sleeping the ears/forehead are a normal feeling temperature so I think that would be a good sign.

You mention the meowing more than usual though? If you know how to take a temperature, then I would recommend doing so. If you have someone to hold your cat, even better. If you notice any other changes, any at all, then I would not hesitate to take you cat to your vet. If he seems listless, sluggish and starts to sleep more then that would be cause for concern. Cats have a very high tolerance for pain and illness and will not usually show outward signs until the problem has exacerbated. SOOOO - fussy mom - nope A good alert, keen and very loving cat mom.
