Mimi oh Mimi.

She started vomiting again bile because we suspect she ate merlins food (s/d) . He is eating this for another week because of his recent crystals.
We went to the vet because I found coffee grounds like in her vomit and I panicked .

The vet said her ibd is flaring up and the coffee grounds indicate blood so she got a shot of anti acids (sulcralfate)with anti nausea(cerenia) and some fluids and we went home. I will also increase her prednisolone . They suspect on top of her ibd gastritis.

Any other tips ? :(

My heart is broken again poor Mimi .

Btw she was eating primal freeze dried raw. Now we switched to natures variety lamb.

I'm sorry to hear about Mimi's IBD troubles.  I've got an older kitty, the grand old dame of the household, with IBD and I have to do the same following a flare-up: increase the pred.  I've even doubled the dosage for 2-3 days, then titrated back down to the normal dose.  It all depends on how sick she gets and how much of an appetite she's got.  If Phoebe is repulsed by the sight of food, I have to break out the CatSure (a liquid meal substitute for senior kitties).

Is Mimi taking an acid reducer like Pepcid every day?  Long-term pred usage almost guarantees acid reflux problems, so you may want to consult your vet about starting her on a quarter to a half tablet (for severe cases) of original Pepcid, taken on an empty stomach a half hour before a meal.  Right now I have three kitties on Pred and all of them are also taking Pepcid.  The vet put two of them on it as a precautionary measure because Pred and acid problems go hand in hand.  You see a lot of bile vomiting in cats with acidic tummies.

I assume you mean NV Instinct Lamb?  My IBD girl eats that along with the Duck and Rabbit varieties.  It's best to rotate proteins so these sensitive kitties don't develop an allergy to their food.  I would consider alternating lamb with the duck and rabbit.

Best wishes to both of you and
for a quick recovery, Mimi!

Thank you much for the nice wishes.

The vet gave her for home : cerenia 1/2 tablet for 3 days and sucralfate 1/4 3 times a day for 5 days. And increased the pred for 2 weeks according to the vet.

Then she said to call but she said she didn't want to give Pepcid. I'm going to cry my Mimi limi.

She acts fine but she takes the usual meatloaf position that means she has tummy ache. Last week I had to take her again to the vet because she had constipation and her anal glands were full with eh stuff lol. She scooted a lot too.

Yes. It's NV lamb. I also got her her usual raw dry Stella and chewy chicken but I'll give it once she gets better.
I also called her holistic vet to get any supplements because the only reason I'm feeling terrible is because yesterday she threw up that hairballs with stuff like coffee grounds which the vet said it might be dried blood .

Did your vet mention ulcers?  I just looked up gastritis and noticed that the cause is usually a helicobacter pylori infection, and this is the same culprit involved in creating peptic ulcers.  Bleeding ulcers could definitely cause some discomfort.  I would keep an eye on your kitty and contact the vet if she continues vomiting blood.  Hopefully the meds will kick in soon, but you don't want to wait too long.

If you want to go with webmd's recommendations, you can treat an h. pylori infection with the following probiotics: bifidobacteria, lactobacillus, saccharomyces boulardii.  Vitamin C supplementation may also be helpful.  As is eating smaller, more frequent meals, decreasing stress (good for everything, of course
), washing hands thoroughly before preparing meals or administering treats, and only serving thoroughly cooked foods (raw may not be the best option for a kitty with this condition).

If it were me, I'd remove common proteins like chicken from Mimi's diet for the time being, gradually reintroducing them after three months.  Food allergies/sensitivities can cause a lot of G.I. problems.

She didn't say about ulcers she said gastritis and ibd flare up .

I do all that :( giving her probiotic and enzymes and avoiding the chicken. If age doesn't want the lamb I'll give her venison or beef or rabbit.

I need to get her more s boulardii then.

For stress we play and I have feliway and she looks happy , always galloping like s tiny horse which is hilarious. I hope she gets better . I will watch her closely these days . All I can think now is her . I wish I was home instead of working today :(
