My cat had her first kitten at twelve today still waiting on some more! She hasn't really stayed with her kitten much just been in and given her some food which she ate like she hasn't been fed for ages purring whilst she was eating. Keeping an eye on her .

Moms can get pauses in delivering, if theyre is no problems, you can wait and see.

But is she taking care of the kitten? it doenst sound so!  And you dont talk much about the kitten.  Make at least sure the kitten isnt chilled out.  Healthy kittens can wait some with proper feeding, but chill is always dangerous.  Also, a chilled kitten cant process the food properly.

Molly went another three hours before she had her next kitten ,she seemed very content and fed her first kitten and was purring so sat and watched her then she delivered the other five quite quickly. Pleased to say mother and kittens doing well. Very happy that I put in the cat warming pad in last night and put another heater in ready. Today was her due day but didn't really expect them on her due date and during the day:clap: I know the hardest thing will be to keep her enclosed off from the other cats for a while.

It was good to read all that advice as my mom cat has done exactly the same, putting her kittens in the litterbox. I had changed the towels yesterday but have given it another clean and put fresh bedding in so fingers crossed as it's been a pretty traumatic two days as she had six in litter but two have passed away :( :( I am helping with the feeding as she's not getting the hang of it as yet so I'm very stressed and trying hard not to let this pass onto my mummy cat. Going to get some feliway and hopefully this will help her feel better. Also made her cage more like a cave.

What are you feeding with?

And how are you doing it?

Is the kitten very weak, or why do you need to supplement it?

Try to weigh them every day, the same hour, so you know if they gain properly (should go up 10 gram a day, or even more).

This is even more necessary to know for htis little weak one, so you know if you give enough, or if you should give more.

The rule of thumb is 8 ml for 30 grammes / day.  So if the kitten was 90 grammes at birth, it should have 3 "30"x8 = 24 ml a day, from you or from mom.   Or even more, if you manage, but not less.

Good luck!
