Hello new friends... *warning I'm long winded*

I few days ago I went looking for a calico in need of a home bc I wanted to add to my feline family of 3. I ended up with a beautiful 8 month old torbie & a 9 month old solid black female with huge eyes that I call Salem.
The very next day I had a lady call begging me to help her downsize her half feral half same colony. She met me with six females between 4 and 7 months. I took 4 of the tamest and plan to S/N & vaccinate before I place any on permanent homes. I mentioned in a previous post I have done private dog rescue mainly for pit bulls for 22 years & successfully placed literally hundreds in that time. All costs out of my pocket I'm proud to say that was what I spent all of my money on. In my almost 41 years I have been to a nail salon ONE time and had a professional hair cut maybe 6 times if that. Some things in life (like other lives!) are far more important to me.

Now I'll stop patting myself on the back LOL
Word travel fast...The lady I got the 4 females from told her friend about me & how wonderful caring blah blah all that crap that I am & gave her my #.
I said from the start I only wanted to work with females... Her friend was almost crying pleading with me to take some of her males. I caved, threw a crate in the car and went over. It was the largest colony I'd seen. Sooo I took 3 males.... A 25 pound solid muscle 3 year old cat that wouldn't leave me alone, his young son, and a young brother the the Siamese mix female I took in from the first lady. To be continued...

So now I have my 3 original girls in the livingroom and kitchen area, 3 boys separated in my middle room and bathroom with the door open, & 6 females in my back 3 bedrooms which are open to each other..
Industrial sizes Litter boxes everywhere which I don't mind cleaning every hour on the hour. Bowls of food an water everywhere, also cool.

None of these cats are going outside until they are properly vaccinated & altered. Watching all older females for signs of pregnancy.

One of my questions is I I can build a large out door enclosure out of my old chicken coop. It's about 20' by 15'' & I have the proper wire fencing to use all around it (chicken wire sucks) As well as huge tree limbs and branches for fun & a few wooden dogs houses to put inside.

I went through a brand new 28 pound box o scoopable litter plus a half in 3 days. Any suggestions on something cheaper? I pay $13 per box but l LOVE it, just not economical...

Also is there any chance my big fella I call "Boss" is going to spray all over that room? He will be first to be N.
Any advice welcome!! -Stacy

I admire you for what you are doing, you are indeed selfless! You had better watch out, everyone will start calling you a cat lady! All the luck, and I pray you much success, you are already an angel on earth!

Thank you so very much. I get sad when people just allow their cats to breed, usually they honestly don't know any better just want the kids to see Fluffy have babies or are misguided in think all animals should produce once)
They just don't realize how many cats a single pair can produce in a year or two. I can't change the state of Texas but I feel I can help my own little county even though I'm not rich.
Our local shelter is a kill shelter & I am certain that these AWESOME cats & kittens I took in, all with different but amazing personalities deserve a chance to live.
I'm going to put flyers up on the importance of S/N and rabies vaccines. (Rabies incident with a dog in Austin two wks ago!) if even a couple people look & absorb it I'll be happy

Thank you, I read a bit on here before decision to join. I'm not a fan of drama, and I thought everyone sounded really nice. There weren't any snarky or rude posts towards newbies which I really appreciate.
No one wants to join a site where they're going to have their butt handed to them for asking advice or questions
