Hi all, I haven't been on this site for ages, my kittens were 1 year old last week and all doing well in their new homes, my gorgeous boy that I kept is so handsome I'll attach a pic later of him.

Anyway the reason I'm here is im fostering a newborn hand rear kitten who was rejected by her mother, I've hand reared before but it was a pair of kittens, through the night this little one struggled to settle between feeds and this morning has finally settled with a small teddy bear, now I recall from being on this board before mention of a snuggle kitty (or something like that) that is basically a cat teddy with heat pad and I think heart beat to make kitten feel safe and secure but I can't find anywhere selling this in the UK so wondered if anyone knew of somewhere I could get something like this?

Yes, I remember such a snuggle kitty.  I think @catwoman707   could know something about it, I have a vague memory she was either the tipper, or at least, participating actively in that tread.

Another tip, is to have fleece.  Fleece feels for kittens almost as moms fur.

If you have any other questions about this little hand reared one, please come forward with them.  I presume you know the basics etc.

Good luck!  @Mum2Daisy

Thanks, yes I have fleece blankets already but she seems to need something extra, she's been much more settled since she has the teddy so that's good.
Yes I know the basics thank you, I successfully hand reared 2 little ones from a day old around Christmas time, it's hard going but oh so worth it :D I also have the support of the rescue I am fostering for if I need any help too.

Hi there,

There is a cuddle kitty toy, it has a pouch inside for heating up.

It's cheap enough for sure, so worth a try, but there are also things around your home that will do the job just as well.

A very small box or container, heating pad, a piece of real fur if you have anything around, or something that feels like real fur, and a windup small clock.

Then a very small stuffed toy added for comforting.

I had an antique store and had a pair of vintage mink fur cuffs, so I stuck one in the small box and you talk about content!

You don't have to use real fur, and I am not into real fur anyway but happen to have these come in to the store.

The small stuffed toy is great for them to snuggle up to as well. The ticking clock replicates mom's heartbeat of course, another comfort.
