Oh she is well-loved, believe me as well as all the others; my little furry kids.  We refer to Mz. Elsa as the queen of the manor.

All of our cats have an excellent quality of food but with Elsa is it a bit different.  The main thing with her being so old; that is equal to a human being 96 years old and that is old by anyone's standard.  Also with her having no teeth all her food has to be canned or wet as some people call it.  And lastly I am always trying to feed her the most tasty things I can find for her to eat.  That statement our vet made keeps ringing in my ears; you have to keep these old cats eating because once they stop, they drop like a stone.

Elsa gets a pretty wide variety of foods; Natural Balance both fish and chicken (Elsa is a big time fish lover) Whiskas pouches of chicken and fish; she particularly loves the Whiskas Red Snapper, Fancy Feast canned of various flavors, Fancy Feast Appetizer, Fancy Feast Medleys (these have LOTS of gravy which Elsa LOVES) and then I use the Fancy Feast broths on different ones that seem a little dry, that broth works wonders some days when I am having a little trouble getting her to eat.  I just rotate through the food and keep trying to give her lots of variety and keep her interested in what is coming next.  Elsa has gotten so she recognizes the sound of the microwave going off when it is done.  I have seen her sitting on the couch, stretching her neck to try to see into the kitchen when she hears the beep.

My late husband gave Elsa to me as a gift.  We got her from a breeder, she was from a litter of 4 kittens and Elsa was passed over time and again, no one wanted her.  Elsa's mother was the teeny-tine fine-boned Siamese, she weighed all of about 6 pounds and her daddy was a great big romper-stomper Applehead Siamese and Elsa took after dad.  Elsa had what I call a short wheelbase (short in length) and she had enormous feet and she was clumsy as could be but it was love at first sight.  The breeder said Elsa had the most personality out of the 4 kittens and she wanted to keep her but her boyfriend said no way so she sold her to us.

Elsa and I bonded very quickly and I was just so in love with her almost from the get-go and in no time late husband became jealous of her.  He was on the transplant list and very ill and I tried to protect Elsa and keep her out of his way but at times it felt like she and I against the rest of the world.  By the time he passed 3 years later Elsa was traumatized and to take her to the vet, for her to be around any other male person was very traumatizing for her.

But by the John came along, he was able to help change all that.  The first thing I noticed about him was his very gentle nature and Elsa was able to tap into that and he was very instrumental in helping to get her past all that.  John was great for Elsa and I both in giving us a whole new life, that man has been my rock.  I really don't know what I did to deserve that man and on some days I am looking towards the Heavens asking God what I did that was so bad that I got him.
