My cat has gotten these strange pimples on his nose and they seem to cause him discomfort but he acts normally, doesnt appear to be too upset in general. I cant afford to go to a vet but im always so scared that he will get sick again. He had UTI a couple years ago and has been on medicated food ever since. The whole process nearly killed my already empty wallet, if not for the help of friends I wouldn't have been able to even afford it. If this problem is serious I need to know as soon as possible.

Hi

well if it isn't serious now (and it may be) it will likely become serious later, infection etc.  The cheapest way to treat it is get it looked at sooner rather than later.

Make sure if you use antibiotic cream that it doesn't have a painkiller in it. It's hard to tell from that picture what's going on with his nose (are they open wounds? thin like a filled blister? or thick? do they look dry? is there any puss/other liquid coming out?). Did they just appear out of nowhere, or did they grow over some amount of time?

An activated carbon poultice might help, or honey if it's open and infected looking.

Skin infections are notoriously hard to diagnose, vets have a several hundred page manual just on skin issues.  We can't diagnose it online, your cat needs a vet's attention.

Those don't look like pustules or papules typical of a skin infection, which are usually on the trunk (abdomen, dorsum, hind), not the head. The symmetrical placement looks like wound/ trauma that has healed, but it is difficult to discern without close exam and palpating. Does he live with other dogs/cats that could have scratched/bitten her nose? Anything in the home she could have been caught on when passing through with protrusions or points that could have caused it? These are all possibilities to rule out.

She shouldn't have anything applied topically. Ointments and creams shouldn't be applied anywhere on the face unless they're opthalmic and won't harm the eyes. Facial grooming and wicking will cause any topical meds on the nose to enter the eyes, which shouldn't have dermal triple antibiotics or other skin/oral meds anywhere near them. Also, the creams/ointments could cause the lesions/wounds to worsen, stay too moist, or lead to overgrooming, as cats don't leave meds on their skin/coat if they can reach to remove it.

Eroded areas of skin or lesions that persist lead to diagnostics to rule out immune mediated disease. If the areas have improved since your first noticed them, there's less concern. If they aren't getting better, or are getting worse, she needs a vet exam to know what they could be, what may have caused them, and best treatment, which will likely be oral or injectable, as topical options are contraindicated for that area of the head.

Care Credit is an option to apply for, get approved for a set limit, and no need to pay interest for at least 6 months, minimum payment only. Many clients rely on this to get treatment for their babies. Not all vets accept Care Credit, so you may need to call around tomorrow to find a clinic that does. Good luck!
